Add another coaching vacancy in the OAA for Boys Basketball.
Coach Darryle Buchanan has stepped down coaching the Boys Basketball program at Southfield Arts and Tech on Monday afternoon.
The move was confirmed by Mitten Recruit on Twitter.
Buchanan led the Warriors to a 41-39 record in his four years with the program. He was 7-15 this season at Southfield Arts and Tech.
Buchanan went 29-14 in his first two seasons with the program but was 12-25 since then.
Southfield Arts and Tech has a lot of proven experience in Greg Davis, Davier Burt, Quantie Pryor, Ethan Taylor, Bryce Hewens, Kayel Sims, Nicholas Hardy, Matt Young, and Juwan Ramsey coming back next season.
The Warriors were in the White in Buchanan's three years but they were in to the Blue last season which they finished last in the division. Southfield Arts and Tech will be in the Gold next season.
Program strength is a big concern next season for Southfield Arts and Tech.
Buchanan is well known in the basketball community especially in the Detroit area.
Southfield Arts and Tech is the fourth OAA school looking for a new coach joining Stoney Creek, Groves, and Bloomfield Hills.
It will be very interesting to see what happens with the Warriors going forward.
Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing story.
