Avondale has their new Boys Basketball Coach.

Written Tuesday October 14th at 2:00 PM

The Yellow Jackets have their new boys basketball coach.

Avondale named Aaron Fox as their new boys basketball coach. He takes over for Jaret Thomas who had to step down as Yellow Jackets coach to be an associate coach at Oakland Community College.

The MHSAA website confirmed the hire.

Fox was the interim coach in 2023 after Coach Pat Clancy was let go after some off the court issues. Fox led Avondale to an 8-8 record and lost to Waterford Mott in the district first round that season.

Thomas went 32-15 in his two years in Auburn Hills at his Alma maunder.

Fox will be tasked on handling a loaded team that has a loaded schedule. The Yellow Jackets have Jakobe Louris, Noah Bonds, Anthony Burton, Jaidon Burgeois, and Javonte Anderson coming back. They added Max Muhl from Rochester this offseason.

Avondale is in the Red with Clarkston, Farmington, North Farmington, Groves, Ferndale, and West Bloomfield this season. They are in a tough district which has Lake Orion, Clarkston, Waterford Mott, and Waterford Kettering.

Program strength will be something to watch with the Yellow Jackets this season.

It will be very interesting to see what Avondale has this season with Fox leading the program.

Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing story.
