Volleyball Districts-2026

Written Monday June 8th at 3:23 PM

Updated Sunday October 20th at 6:50 PM

Here are the volleyball districts released by the MHSAA. This will be updated.

District 7 @ Bloomfield Hills

C. WEST BLOOMFIELD vs B. WATERFORD MOTT

WATERFORD MOTT/WEST BLOOMFIELD vs. 1. BLOOMFIELD HILLS

A. North Farmington vs 2. Orchard Lake St. Mary's

PROJECTED MPR: 1. Bloomfield Hills, 2. Orchard Lake St. Marys, 3. West Bloomfield, 4. Waterford Mott, 5. North Farmington

UPDATED THOUGHTS: This is looking like it will be Bloomfield Hills against Orchard Lake St. Marys in the district final which would be really interesting. The Eaglets have an outside chance to catch the Black Hawks for the top seed. West Bloomfield looks locked for the third seed. Waterford Mott is locked for the fourth seed. I'm really surprised and disappointed with North Farmington that they have struggled in the Lakes Valley Conference. It's going to be very interesting but this is looking like it's going to be a Black Hawks/Eaglets district final.

District 8 @ Lake Orion

C. WATERFORD KETTERING vs B. Lapeer

Lapeer/WATERFORD KETTERING vs. 1. CLARKSTON

A. LAKE ORION vs. 2. OXFORD

PROJECTED MPR: 1. Clarkston, 2. Lake Orion, 3. Oxford, 4. Lapeer, 5. Waterford Kettering

UPDATED THOUGHTS: This should be a very competitive district. There are four teams have a shot to win this district. Oxford went to the State quarters and beat Clarkston and Lake Orion in the district last season. Clarkston, Oxford, Lake Orion, and Lapeer should have strong says but early it has to be Clarkston because of experience and the Wolves won the Red. There are really no changes although the Dragons and Wildcats are battling for the two and three seeds, they will eventually play each other in the district semifinals anyway. Lapeer looks locked to clash with Clarkston in the district semifinals.

District 26 @ Berkley

D. ROYAL OAK vs B. GROVES

C. OAK PARK vs A. BERKLEY

OAK PARK/BERKLEY vs. 1. Birmingham Marian

ROYAL OAK/GROVES vs. 2. SEAHOLM

PROJECTED MPR: 1. Birmingham Marian, 2. Groves, 3. Berkley, 4. Seaholm, 5. Royal Oak, 6. Oak Park

UPDATED THOUGHTS: Birmingham Marian is loaded with proven experience and talent. They are the expected favorite after winning the Catholic League. Groves, Seaholm, and Berkley could contend and give Birmingham Marian some issues, but the Mustangs have the experience to stand out. Groves, Seaholm, and Berkley are struggling a bit this season. There is a battle for the two seed between the Falcons, Maples, and Bears with the third and fourth seeds having to play opening night and having to avoid playing Birmingham Marian in the district semifinals. There is a huge difference is having to play the first night while the other has to wait until the district semifinals.

District 25 @ Farmington Hills Mercy

C. Redford Thurston vs A. Farmington

D. SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH vs B. Livonia Stevenson

Redford Thurston/Farmington vs. 1. Farmington Hills Mercy

Livonia Stevenson/SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH vs. 2. NOVI

PROJECTED MPR: 1. Farmington Hills Mercy, 2. Novi, 3. Redford Thurston, 4. Livonia Stevenson, 5. Farmington, 6. Southfield Arts and Tech.

UPDATED THOUGHTS: This is looking like this will be a two-team district with Farmington Hills Mercy and Novi. Redford Thurston has been a surprise, I was thinking it would had been Livonia Stevenson, but the Spartans have been struggling. Redford Thurston has been a lock for the three seed while the Spartans are locked for the four seed. I still think the two best teams are the Wildcats and Marlins, that could be a five-game set despite Farmington Hills Mercy being the defending champs and have home court in this district.

District 28 @ Grosse Pointe North

B. HARPER WOODS vs D. Warren Woods Tower

C. Roseville vs A. Grosse Pointe South

Grosse Pointe South/Roseville vs. 1. Grosse Pointe North

HARPER WOODS/Warren Woods Tower vs. 2. St. Clair Shores Lakeview

PROJECTED MPR: 1. St. Clair Shores Lakeview, 2. Grosse Pointe North, 3. Grosse Pointe South, 4. Warren Woods Tower, 5. Harper Woods, 6. Roseville

UPDATED THOUGHTS: I've been surprised with how this district is shaping up. Grosse Pointe North has been a surprise as has Grosse Pointe South. I thought that St. Clair Shores Lakeview would run away with this district but it has not been the case. Four through six has been what I've expected but now this looks like it will be a three-team district.

District 29 @ Troy

C. ROCHESTER vs A. AVONDALE

D. TROY vs B. Cranbrook Kingswood

AVONDALE/ROCHESTER vs. 1. STONEY CREEK

Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood/TROY vs. 2. ADAMS

PROJECTED MPR: 1. Stoney Creek, 2. Adams, 3. Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood, 4. Troy, 5. Avondale, 6. Rochester.

UPDATED THOUGHTS: There are a ton of positioning going on in this district. I've been really disappointed with Rochester, I thought they would perform better than what they are showing. Adams and Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood looks like that could go down toward the end of the month based on the MPR as they battle for the two seed. Avondale and Troy are another one to watch despite likely having to face each other. Stoney Creek is locked as the top seed and they should be the favorite in this district.

District 30 @ Troy Athens

B. Sterling Heights Stevenson vs C. Utica Henry Ford II

Sterling Heights Stevenson/Utica Henry Ford II vs 1. TROY ATHENS

A. Sterling Heights vs. 2. Utica

PROJECTED MPR: 1. Troy Athens, 2. Utica, 3. Utica Henry Ford II, 4. Sterling Heights, 5. Sterling Heights Stevenson.

UPDATED THOUGHTS: Troy Athens is an honorary member of the Macomb Area Conference. Utica should be the Red Hawks toughest challenger in the district and they could meet in the district finals. Sterling Heights and Utica Henry Ford II are battling for the three seed with the winner likely getting Utica while the loser has to play first night and then play Troy Athens in the district semifinals. Troy Athens is in a great spot right now barring any upsets.

District 20 @ Canton

C. Plymouth vs A. Canton

D. Westland John Glenn vs B. Livonia Churchill

Canton/Plymouth vs. 1. NORTHVILLE

Westland John Glenn/Livonia Churchill vs. 2. Salem

PROJECTED MPR: 1. Northville, 2. Salem, 3. Plymouth, 4. Livonia Churchill, 5. Canton, 6. Westland John Glenn.

UPDATED THOUGHTS: This is a very brutal district and hard to project. Five teams are above 500 and have an over 520 MPR. Northville is the top seed but they could see Canton or Livonia Churchill in the district semifinals would be nuts. Plymouth and Salem in the district semifinals would also be nuts as well. This is going to be an insanely competitive district to say the least. The Mustangs are favored but they will need to play their best if they want to win this district.

District 64 @ Ferndale

B. FERNDALE UNIVERSITY vs C. Hazel Park

Hazel Park/FERNDALE UNIVERSITY vs 1. FERNDALE

A. Detroit Central vs 2. Detroit Pershing

PROJECTED MPR: 1. Ferndale, 2. Detroit Pershing, 3. Detroit Central, 4. Hazel Park, 5. Ferndale University.

UPDATED THOUGHTS: This is not a very strong district on paper. Ferndale looks primed to make another deep run like they did when they got to the State Quarterfinals last season. This looks very primed for the Eagles to make more noise in the postseason.

District 87 @ Clawson

C. Madison Heights Madison vs A Bloomfield Hills Roeper

D. Warren Michigan Collegiate vs B. CLAWSON

Madison/Roeper vs. 1. Madison Heights Bishop Foley

CLAWSON/Warren Michigan Collegiate vs. 2. Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest

PROJECTED MPR: 1. Madison Heights Bishop Foley, 2. Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest, 3. Clawson, 4. Warren Michigan Collegiate, 5. Madison Heights Madison 6. Bloomfield Hills Roeper.

UPDATED THOUGHTS: This district is competitive and really no changes to update in this district. I still think that three teams have a shot to win this district in Madison Heights Bishop Foley, Clawson, and Rochester Lutheran Northwest. It should be interesting to say the least.

District 4 @ Flint Kearsley

C. GRAND BLANC vs A Flint Carman Ainsworth

D. Swartz Creek vs B Flint Kearsley

Flint Carman Ainsworth/GRAND BLANC vs 1. Flushing

Swartz Creek/Flint Kearsley vs 2. DAVISON

PROJECTED MPR: 1. Flushing, 2. Davison, 3. Grand Blanc, 4. Swartz Creek, 5. Flint Kearsley, 6. Flint Carman Ainsworth.

UPDATED THOUGHTS: This is a very interesting district. Davison and Flushing should battle for the district crown. Grand Blanc is a wildcard and a team to watch. The Cardinals won the district last season, but the Raiders should be a team to watch. This is going to what I've expected thus far. Flushing and Davison should battle it out in the district finals, but the Bobcats aren't that far behind.
