Basketball Top 23.

Girls

1. West Bloomfield (7-1): Summer Davis might have had the best week that I’ve seen in a long time.

2. Clarkston (3-3): Maddy Skourpski and Izzy Hadley have been playing lights out lately.

3. Stoney Creek (5-3): Cougars will be fine there is no need to panic.

4. Lake Orion (7-1): Grace Sullivan could be that defensive stopper that the Dragons are looking for???

5. Rochester (5-2): When the Falcons win without four players that’s a statement.

6. Groves (6-2): Kaitlyn Sanders has really played lights out lately.

7. Seaholm (5-1): There is a lot to like with the Maples. They are very competitive and balanced.

8. Oxford (2-2): Peyton Richter is really going to be missed for the Wildcats.

9. Harper Woods (5-0): January 25th will say a lot if the Pioneers are for real.

10. Ferndale University (3-0): Eagles have been rolling but playing three games is very concerning.

11. Berkley (2-3): Nolan Malve has really stood out for the Bears.

12. Troy Athens (4-5): Gillan Ciak was 18 for 22 from the free throw line. That’s a ton of free throws.

13. Troy (3-6): Colts can’t allow 18 points in the fourth quarter and expect to win.

14. Adams (2-3): Abbey Drahnak will be key for the Highlanders going forward.

15. North Farmington (4-4): Raiders are a much different team without Sela Lefler.

16. Royal Oak (1-6): Regan Blackwell could be a difference maker for the Ravens.

17. Farmington (2-4): Brielle Burns has really been very consistent for the Falcons.

18. Bloomfield Hills (2-4): It has been a grind for the Blackhawks but they are getting through it.

19. Southfield Arts and Tech (4-6): Warriors still having issues against very good teams.

20. Pontiac (1-2): Phoenix had a rough outing but will be fine.

21. Oak Park (1-3): Knights are still struggling to find offense.

22. Avondale (1-5): Yellow Jackets won their first game of the season on Friday night.

23. Ferndale (0-6): Eagles are starting to show signs of improvement.

 

 

Boys

1. North Farmington (7-1): It’s been a great week for the Raiders.

2. Ferndale (5-2): Wonder if Jason Drake is back and if he is then the Eagles are a different team.

3. Clarkston (4-2): Wolves cannot blow an 11 point lead on Tuesday night and expect to win.

4. Bloomfield Hills (6-2): Noah Adamcyzk has been the real deal for the Blackhawks.

5. Oak Park (5-1): Ashton Henderson has been playing lights out for the Knights.

6. Rochester (5-1): Ah what happened against Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, Falcons???

7. Adams (3-3): Thomas Blaine is the X factor for the Highlanders.

8. Royal Oak (4-3): Ravens have my attention now.

9. Troy Athens (3-3): Red Hawks needed to survive a tough one on Friday night.

10. Troy (3-4): Will the real Colts please stand up??? 

11. Lake Orion (4-4): Coach Jose Andreadas is making a big difference for the Dragons.

12. Oxford (2-3): Shout out to Jon Ascuitto for playing in his first game back for the Wildcats.

13. Stoney Creek (4-3): Cougars are quietly making some noise.

14. Ferndale University (2-3): Coach Josh Nicks has the Eagles heading in the right direction.

15. Berkley (4-3): It’s been a tough week to say the least for the Bears.

16. Groves (3-2): Falcons really struggled despite winning against Seaholm

17. Harper Woods (2-4): Pioneers had a rough start against Saline on Thursday night.

18. West Bloomfield (2-5): Lakers are really struggling right now.

19. Avondale (2-5): Yellow Jackets have lost two straight since beating Riverview.

20. Southfield Arts and Tech (2-5): Warriors didn’t play this week.

21. Seaholm (1-6): Maples are showing signs of improvement.

22. Farmington (2-5): Falcons looked very good on Monday against Port Huron.

23. Pontiac (0-1): Phoenix showed some life against Carleton Airport but fell in overtime. They should be fine though.
