Football Uniform Design Update.

Here is what I learned from the uniform design concept after five weeks.

Opposite elbows need to make a return on Seaholm’s uniforms

The Maples changed uniforms a few years ago. They did some great things like going back to the Maple helmet and the name plates but something is missing on the uniforms. The opposite elbows that’s it. That’s what made the uniform. Seaholm is winning games and is sitting really nice right now but the opposite elbow uniform is truly missed.

North Farmington needs a complete uniform re-design

When the Raiders changed uniforms this offseason, I didn’t get it or understand it. Why did they go with Zedith. They have an all black combination for their home games but the white helmet makes no sense. The road uniforms are scary with the white uniform and helmet with yellow pants. They had a great jersey design from 2018 until last season. North Farmington needs a complete reboot in the uniform department.

Oak Park needs to change helmets

The Knights had a great helmet prior to this season whether they went with the chrome or the black design. The white helmets just don’t feel right. They changed the helmet this past offseason. The uniform especially on the road looks great with the red opposite elbows but the helmet needs to be painted or something.

Clarkston should never wear white pants at home ever again

Why does the Wolves wear white pants at home??? Makes no sense, bad things seem to happen or things get too close for comfort when they go this look. They wore that look against Romeo in the playoffs look what happened there. Clarkston has blue pants although I’m not sure if they have a yellow pair but they should never wear white pants at home ever. On the road is where the white pants belong.

The All white look is making a comeback.

There is something with the all white look with opposite helmet does. Southfield Arts and Tech went to red helmets this season after wearing the white helmet for two years (wore blue helmets prior) although I miss the prior road uniforms with the opposite elbows. There are some teams that have great all white looks like Lake Orion, Clarkston, Rochester, Harper Woods (minus white helmet), Troy, Troy Athens, and Seaholm (see elbows) that are classic and traditional. There is something with the all white look with the opposite helmet makes sense. Uniforms always tell stories of teams and it's no different here.
