HARPER WOODS 50, Marysville 0: The Pioneers had no issue with the Vikings on Friday night winning 50-0. Harper Woods had great performances from their defense along with Stephone Buford, Colby Taylor, and company. The Pioneers have another home game coming up as Carleton Airport comes to Harper Woods next week.
Walled Lake Western 50, AVONDALE 22: The start was the difference between the Yellow Jackets and the Warriors on Friday night with Avondale falling 50-22 to Walled Lake Western. The Yellow Jackets battled to make the game respectable but it wasn’t meant to be. Avondale will be back next season that is for sure.
Waterford Mott 34, SEAHOLM 21: The Maples had a ton of trouble with Caleb Osbourne in a 34-21 loss to Waterford Mott on Friday night. Osbourne had two long pass plays from 61 yards and 79 yards. He also had two rushing scores as well. Graden Kinnie, Sean Emerson, and Brock Hardwig had touchdowns on the night for Seaholm. The Maples lose a ton of talent heading into the offseason.
SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 36, Detroit Cass Tech 25: The Warriors earned their first district crown in school history winning 36-25 over Detroit Cass Tech and beating the Technicians for the second time this season. Isiah Marshall had a big game for Southfield Arts and Tech which included two scores to Juwan Jarrett. The Warriors will head to Chippewa Valley next week in a very interesting showdown.
WEST BLOOMFIELD 24, Utica Eisenhower 6: The Lakers found a way through very questionable officiating and two Jaiden Allios interceptions winning a low scoring, wind heavy 24-6 game over Utica Eisenhower at Sweinhart. It was 6-6 at halftime but that’s when Allios took the game over, one of his two interceptions off Eagles star quarterback Preston Crum was a pick six while Rick Nance and Elijah Durham did the rest. West Bloomfield’s defense did a very good job on shutting down Crum and his talented wide receivers including Hayden Bills. The Lakers will get a home game in the regional final with Clarkston after the Wolves stunned Lake Orion in a wild and emotional game.
CLARKSTON 38. LAKE ORION 37: In a game that was very similar to the 2011 first round (Walled Lake Central), the 2012 regular season and 2006 playoff game there were a ton of emotions that filled Dragon Stadium on Friday night. The Wolves stars showed out especially in crucial situations, Brody Kosin, Desman Stephens, and Brady Collins made critical plays in critical times including the winning score when Griffin Bowman scored with 44 seconds left in the game. Clarkston got an onside kick as well which set up the Bowman score. The Dragons are going to be sick to their stomachs watching the replays, what if they could get another stop, they had a chance on three fourth down and long situations (2012), Clarkston had long clock eating drives (2011 Walled Lake Central and 2012 game.) Clarkston moves onto play West Bloomfield next week.
