Harper Woods: The Pioneers had no issue with Marysville on Friday night winning 50-0. Harper Woods star players showed out and played huge against a good Vikings program. The defense was solid all night for the Pioneers. Harper Woods has Carleton Airport looming next week in Wayne County.
Avondale: The Yellow Jackets had a tough night against a very good Walled Lake Western program as Avondale fell 50-22 on Friday night. The start was the difference in the game and the Warriors took advantage. The Yellow Jackets are building something within their program heading into next season. They will be back that is for sure.
Seaholm: The Maples had a tough quarterback matchup with Caleb Osbourne and he played well in a 34-21 Waterford Mott win over Seaholm on Friday night. Osbourne was responsible for four touchdowns including two in the air and two on the ground. Sean Emerson, Brock Hartwig, and Granden Kinnie had touchdowns on the night for the Maples. Seaholm loses a ton of talent next season which will be very interesting to watch this offseason.
Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors won their first district crown after beating Detroit Cass Tech for the second time this season with a 36-25 win on Saturday afternoon. Isiah Marshall had a big game for Southfield Arts and Tech. The Warriors will head to Chippewa Valley next week.
West Bloomfield: The Lakers needed their defense in a big way in a very impressive 24-6 win over Utica Eisenhower at Sweinhart Field on Friday night. The officiating was very spotty in the game but Jailen Allios made two big interceptions which changed the tide of the game and also got a pick six as well. The Lakers will have a home game with Clarkston in the regional final after their stunning win over Lake Orion.
Clarkston: The Wolves stars showed out in a big way on Friday night especially when they needed them too in a stunning 38-37 win at Lake Orion. Brady Collins, Brody Kosin, and Desman Stephens made critical plays and critical times. Clarkston was also aided by a few questionable calls but Griffin Bowman scored late and got the interception to win it. The Wolves have West Bloomfield looming next week.
Lake Orion: The Dragons had a ton of what ifs in a stunning 38-37 loss to Clarkston on Friday night. What if Lake Orion made one more stop???, what if they got the two point conversion, what if they recovered the onside kick??? Billy Roberson had three touchdowns in the game. Officiating was very spotty but there is going to be a ton of what if’s heading into next season for Lake Orion.
