Written Tuesday October 13th at 11:15 AM

These are the way too early basketball rankings. THESE ARE NOT THE OFFICIAL RANKINGS but is an idea where things could go before the official rankings come out after Thanksgiving. Here they are.

Boys

1. Ferndale: This could be the Eagles best chance to make a deep run in Division Two.

2. Clarkston: This might be the Wolves deepest team since they won back-to-back Division One State Championships under legendary coach Dan Fife.

3. Adams: Cannon Flynn might be the best individual talent in the OAA.

4. Rochester: Nate Tandy and Ben Bissett may be the best duo big men in the OAA.

5. Bloomfield Hills: Black Hawks might have the best guard tandem in the OAA.

6. Pontiac: Phoenix will be very interesting to watch with a new coach in Robert Hill.

7. Lake Orion: Never underestimate Jose Andrades led programs.

8. Oxford: Never underestimate Joe Fedorichik led programs.

9. Seaholm: Maples experience and length gives them a chance to make some noise and forget after what happened against Berkley in the first-round last season.

10. Troy Athens: Alan Spachic might be in line for a special season.

11. Avondale: Yellow Jackets lost a ton of talent from their Final Four run last season, but they should still be competitive.

12. Groves: David Wilson is a name to watch with the Falcons.

13. Troy: Colts could be a sleeper under Troy alumni and former Royal Oak Coach Aaron Smith.

14. Stoney Creek: Cougars have experience but a ton of questions as well.

18. Waterford Mott: Corsairs are in an interesting place with a new coach in Andrew Myers.

19. Berkley: Postseason upset win over Seaholm should give the Bears optimism this season.

21. Royal Oak: Ravens could take a step back with a new coach in Jacob Bradsher after winning their first district in school history last season.

23. Ferndale University: Eagles have been consistent despite struggling in the Gold.

Girls

1. Clarkston: The Wolves might be more dangerous this season and that says a lot.

2. Groves: If the Falcons can defend and find a third scorer look out.

3. Avondale: Yellow Jackets might have the best three guards in the OAA despite brutal schedule.

4. West Bloomfield: Lakers don't have star studded names but it's still West Bloomfield.

5. Troy Athens: Red Hawks will be just fine under new coach Brittney Brennan.

6. Oxford: Wildcats have a boat load of experience despite long term program strength concerns.

10. Troy: Colts are as good as Maci Zeiter takes them despite expectation questions.

11. Waterford: Sartorius sisters could be in line for breakout seasons.

12. Rochester: Immani Morgan might be a name to know really soon.

13. Berkley: Nicqo Shoulders might be the best big in the OAA, guard play is a question mark.

14. Southfield Arts and Tech: Warriors can score but can they defend???

15. Royal Oak: Can the Ravens find that defense first identity they've been in the past???

18. Harper Woods: Pioneers have some program strength concerns right now.

19. Ferndale University: Eagles will look to take the next step under Coach Brian Pinkett.
