Week Five Games.

Hartland at NOVI: It has been a rough two weeks for the Wildcats after getting outscored 85-13 in the last two weeks. Novi has to play Hartland that is rolling right now. The Eagles are coming off a surprising 36-21 win over Brighton last week. This is not a good matchup for the Wildcats at all.

NORTHVILLE at Plymouth: The Mustangs have been rolling lately, and they got the Baseline Jug back after blowing out archrival Novi 52-7 last week. The Wildcats survived archrival Canton 24-20 last week and has been living on the edge as of late. This should be a very interesting matchup.

CLAWSON at Eastpointe: The Trojans are coming off a humiliating 58-13 home loss to Algonac on Friday night. The good news for Clawson is they are heading on the road to play Eastpointe. The Shamrocks have really struggled but have been competitive. This should be a very interesting matchup, which Trojans team shows up will be the key.

River Rouge at GRAND BLANC: This is the Bobcats homecoming??? taking on a tough River Rouge program that has been up and down lately, playing a tough schedule, and well coached under Jermaine Crowell. Grand Blanc has been rolling on both sides of the football and look to have no signs of letting up anytime soon. This should be a very interesting matchup at "The Don."

DAVISON at Saginaw: The Cardinals have been rolling since their humbling loss to Novi Detroit Catholic Central in week two. The defense is still an issue for Davison despite rolling offensively. The Phoenix have been up and down. They fell 28-12 to Flint Powers Catholic last week. This is a tough matchup for Saginaw against a good Cardinals program.

1. OXFORD at 2. CLARKSTON: This game will likely decide who wins the Red. Both have been battle tested, both are experienced, and both are solid up front. This has always been a battle, and we remember the postseason game in 2021 when the Wildcats went into Clarkston and shocked them in the first round. Could history repeat itself or will the Wolves continue their dominance over the league???

3. STONEY CREEK at TROY ATHENS: The Cougars are rolling since their heartbreaking 14-7 loss to Clarkston in week two. Stoney Creek has given his second and third string a ton of time which has helped heading into the future, but they have their city rivals awaiting in the next two weeks after this game. The Red Hawks earned a 35-0 win over archrival Troy last week. This should be a very interesting matchup especially up front and it's also Troy Athens homecoming as well.

4. HARPER WOODS at 5. GROVES: This game should decide the Blue. The Falcons escaped with a 14-13 win over Seaholm last week behind a Jeremiah Whitley 15-yard rushing touchdown. Groves has been really competitive with the Pioneers in recent years. Harper Woods has outscored their last three opponents 163-18 in the last three weeks ever since their week one loss to Chelsea. This should be a very interesting matchup between two teams that know each other well.

9. ADAMS at 6. LAKE ORION: The Dragons and Highlanders have had battles in the past. This should be no different. Lake Orion fell 29-27 to Adams last season. The Highlanders were humiliated by Clarkston falling 45-0 last week. The Dragons are coming off a 42-0 win over West Bloomfield. This should be a very interesting game which could have big postseason implications.

7. SEAHOLM at 10. OAK PARK: This should be a fun game with two different styles and they have experience. The Maples are looking to avenge their heartbreaking 14-13 loss to archrival Groves last week. The Knights have confidence after winning 20-10 at Waterford Mott last week. This should be a fun game in Knight Valley.

AVONDALE at 8. FERNDALE: This could be a very interesting game in Ferndale. The Eagles have shutout their last two opponents 98-0. The Yellow Jackets are coming off an emotional 22-20 upset win over Royal Oak. This should be a very interesting matchup as mentioned.

WEST BLOOMFIELD at BLOOMFIELD HILLS: The Battle of Bloomfield is very interesting with both teams struggling. The Lakers are coming off a shocking 42-0 loss to Lake Orion. The Black Hawks have not been the same since their loss to Lake Orion in week two. This should be a very interesting game especially up front and if West Bloomfield can be disciplined.

TROY at ROCHESTER: These are two teams that are heading in opposite directions and I'm not sure if this is Rochester's homecoming. The Falcons are fine despite falling 42-0 to Oxford last week. The Colts there are just no words after getting blown out at home by your archrival Troy Athens 35-0 last week then they have Lake Orion looming next week. It's going to be a tough two weeks for the Colts.

WATERFORD MOTT at SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH: There is really no words to explain the Corsairs offense that has scored 30 points in the last two weeks and had a second half disaster in a 20-10 loss to Oak Park last week. The Warriors are really struggling after allowing 61 points to Harper Woods last week. This should be a very interesting game.

WATERFORD KETTERING at BERKLEY: These are two teams that are in similar boats. The Bears have struggled starting 0-3 but won 21-0 over Pontiac last week. The Captains have really struggled scoring 13 points in the last three weeks. This should be a very interesting game.

PONTIAC at ROYAL OAK: This could be homecoming week for the Ravens after getting upset 22-20 by Avondale last week. The Phoenix have been struggling to score offensively. This could be a very interesting game but we'll see.

Week Five Rankings.

Here are the rankings for next week.

1. Oxford: The Wildcats earned a 42-0 homecoming win over Rochester. They will have a much tougher test awaiting them with Clarkston looming next week.

2. Clarkston: The Wolves sent a statement winning 45-0 over Adams on Friday night. Clarkston was in control throughout the game. They have a big one looming with Oxford next week.

3. Stoney Creek: The Cougars have been rolling since their tough 14-7 loss to Clarkston two weeks ago. Stoney Creek has been rolling people lately. They have Troy Athens looming next week.

4. Harper Woods: The Pioneers have been on a mission since losing 29-20 to Chelsea in week one. Harper Woods has been making a ton of noise and is rolling right now. They have Harper Woods looming next week.

5. Groves: The Falcons are coming off an emotional 14-13 win over Seaholm on Friday night. Groves has been rolling since losing to North Farmington in week one. They control their destiny in the Blue and Harper Woods looming.

6. Lake Orion: The Dragons earned a stunning 42-0 win over West Bloomfield last week. Lake Orion's defense was the story holding a vaunted Lakers offense to zero points. They have Adams looming next week.

7. Seaholm: The Maples had a tough 14-13 loss to Groves on Friday night. Seaholm will be fine despite the loss to their archrivals. They will be fine going forward.

8. Ferndale: The Eagles have been rolling lately. Ferndale has rolled teams since losing to Harper Woods two weeks ago including a 50-0 win over Waterford Kettering last week. They have Pontiac looming next week.

9. Adams: The Highlanders are coming off a tough 45-0 loss to Clarkston on Friday night. This was a huge setback for Coach Tony Patritto and Adams and they have a tough matchup looming with Lake Orion next week.

10. Oak Park: The Knights were impressive winning 20-10 over Waterford Mott last week. Oak Park has been competitive despite two tough losses to two very good teams in Grand Rapids Catholic Central and Harper Woods. They have Seaholm in a very interesting game next week.

Novi: The Wildcats had a tough 52-7 loss to archrival Northville on Friday night. Novi is really struggling right now. They have Hartland looming next week.

Northville: The Mustangs sent a statement taking back the Baseline Jug winning 52-7 over Novi on Friday night. Northville is clicking on all cylinders. They have Plymouth looming next week.

Grand Blanc: The Bobcats went into Traverse City and won 54-22 over Traverse City West on Friday night. Grand Blanc is rolling right now. They have River Rouge looming next week.

Davison: The Cardinals are clicking on all cylinders with a 49-20 win over Saginaw Heritage on Friday night. Davison is rolling right now. They have Saginaw looming next week.

Clawson: The Trojans took a very bad loss to Algonac falling 58-13 on Friday night. It was very disappointing for Clawson after getting off to a 3-0 start. They have Eastpointe looming next week.

Royal Oak: The Ravens took a tough loss 22-20 to Avondale on Friday. Royal Oak fell to 2-2 for the year. They have Pontiac looming next week.

Avondale: The Yellow Jackets scored a hard-fought win over Royal Oak 22-20 on Friday. Avondale has seemed to have turned the corner a little bit especially offensively. They have Ferndale looming next week.

Ferndale: The Eagles are on a roll. Ferndale won 50-0 over Waterford Kettering on Friday night. The Eagles have been clicking on all cylinders. They have Avondale looming next week.

Waterford Kettering: The Captains had a rough night falling 50-0 over Ferndale on Friday night. Waterford Kettering has been really struggling. They have Berkley looming next week.

Berkley: The Bears got some confidence winning 21-0 over Pontiac. Berkley needed that win after a tough schedule. They have Waterford Kettering looming next week.

Pontiac: The Phoenix had a rough night falling 21-0 to Berkley at home. Pontiac has struggled to score. They have Royal Oak looming next week.

Harper Woods: The Pioneers rolled Southfield Arts and Tech 61-0 on Friday night. Harper Woods is on a roll right now outscoring their last three opponents 163-18 in that stretch. They have Groves looming next week.

Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors have been outscored 103-0 in their last two weeks which included a 61-0 loss to Harper Woods on Friday night. They have Waterford Mott looming next week.

Oak Park: The Knights sent a statement winning 20-10 at Waterford Mott. Oak Park has turned things around since their two losses to Grand Rapids Catholic Central and Harper Woods. They have Seaholm looming next week.

Waterford Mott: The Corsairs took a very bad 20-10 loss to Oak Park on Friday night. Waterford Mott has struggled in the last two weeks and Tori Robinson did not play according to the film I've seen. They have Harper Woods looming next week.

Groves: The Falcons survived Seaholm 14-13 on Friday night after getting a late touchdown from star running back Jerimah Whitley and an extra point. Groves has been strong since their week one loss to North Farmington. They have Harper Woods looming next week.

Seaholm: The Maples had a tough 14-13 loss to Groves on Friday night after allowing a late touchdown and extra point. I don't know why Coach Jim DeWald decided to go for two in a high-risk high reward situation, but it cost them big time. Seaholm will be fine going forward. They have Oak Park looming next week.

Stoney Creek: The Cougars rolled 56-0 over Bloomfield Hills on Friday night. Stoney Creek is clicking on all cylinders right now. They have Troy Athens looming next week.

Bloomfield Hills: The Black Hawks took a very tough 56-0 loss to Stoney Creek on Friday night. Bloomfield Hills is really struggling right now. They have West Bloomfield looming next week.

Troy: The Colts took a tough 35-0 home loss to archrival Troy Athens on Friday night. Troy is in trouble right now struggling to score. They have Rochester looming next week.

Troy Athens: The Red Hawks earned a 35-0 win over Troy on Friday night. Troy Athens has flipped the rivalry in their favor. They have Stoney Creek looming next week.

Rochester: The Falcons had a tough 42-0 loss to Oxford on Friday night. Rochester struggled to maintain drives against a very good Oxford defense. The Falcons will be fine despite this loss. They have Troy looming next week.

Oxford: The Wildcats earned a 42-0 homecoming win over Rochester on Friday night. Oxford was dominant all night against a good Rochester program on both sides of the football. They have Clarkston looming next week.

Lake Orion: The Dragons sent a statement scoring on their first four possessions in a stunning 42-0 win over West Bloomfield on Friday night in the Swamp. Lake Orion for a night looked like the Dragons of the past. They have Adams looming next week.

West Bloomfield: The Lakers discipline really hurt them in their shocking 42-0 loss to Lake Orion on Friday night in the Swamp. West Bloomfield has issues up front and penalties hurt them as well in their loss as mentioned. The Lakers have a ton of issues to address. They have Bloomfield Hills looming next week.

Clarkston: The Wolves sent a statement winning 45-0 over Adams on Friday night in Rochester. Alex Waszezenko was the story all night for Clarkston. The Wolves were also stout defensively on Coach Justin Pintar's birthday. They have Oxford looming next week.

Adams: The Highlanders had a rough night falling 45-0 to Clarkston on Friday night in Rochester. Nothing went right for Adams against a good Clarkston team. They have Lake Orion looming next week.

Troy has their new Boys Basketball Coach.

The Colts got their new boys basketball coach and it's a familiar face to the OAA.

Troy named former alumni Aaron Smith as their new coach on Thursday evening. Smith takes over for Coach Gary Fralick who retired last month.

The move was confirmed by press release.

Smith was a Junior Varsity and assistant coach under Fralick from 2000-2015 before taking the Royal Oak job from 2015 until this past season when he led the Ravens to their first ever district crown. He played for Fralick as well.

Smith also does the Detroit Pistons Youth Engagement and Development as well. He also sits next to the announcer Mason at Pistons games at Little Caesars Arena.

Smith went 109-126 in his 11 seasons at Royal Oak.

Fralick won his 500th game against Smith's Ravens last season.

Smith will see the Ravens in the Blue and in the districts. Troy has Troy Athens, Royal Oak, Pontiac, Harper Woods, and Seaholm in the division and are at Utica with Troy Athens, Utica, Utica Henry Ford II, Sterling Heights Stevenson, and Royal Oak.

Smith will have a veteran team with Hayden Oriol, Grant Wilkins, Blake Kuiper, and Destin Parker coming back. Troy has program strength as well. It will be very interesting to see how the Colts do under Smith this season.

3. Seaholm- A dominant bounce back league win after a tough league loss for the Maples.

6. Bloomfield Hills- Despite the horrid conference play, Blackhawks still have strong MPR.

HUH: Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors were blown out 61-0 by Harper Woods on Friday night. Southfield Arts and Tech is a veteran team that is going through a transition period. The Warriors are in trouble right now.

BIG WIN: Seaholm: The Maples found a running game, found a defense, and stunned a very good Waterford Mott program having them down 41-0 in the second half on Thursday night. The score ended up being 41-20 Seaholm over the Corsairs. Teo Matzel is becoming a star for the Maples as their feature B-Back which moves Will Forberg around. Seaholm has a big game looming with Groves next week.

TOUGH LOSS: West Bloomfield: The Lakers fought hard all night behind Jaxon Carver and Kameron Hall's incredible performances, but they couldn't get an extra point for the second time and fell 42-41 in overtime to Adams on Friday night. West Bloomfield is also in an interesting spot. The Lakers have Lake Orion looming in the Swamp next week.

TEAM THAT NEEDS A HUG: Waterford Kettering: The Captains took a tough 27-13 loss to Royal Oak on Friday night. Waterford Kettering is better that's not a question despite their struggles right now. The Captains are fine, there isn't no need to panic even though they have a tough matchup with Ferndale looming next week.

HUH: Waterford Mott: The Corsairs took a stunning 41-20 loss to Seaholm on Thursday night. They benched Richard Bowens, which was a very interesting decision during the Seaholm game, but he came back in the second half, but it was too late. Tori Robinson played some quarterback, and he made some noise however it was during garbage time, and they need Robinson at other positions. There are some serious concerns with Waterford Mott right now with both lines and now quarterback for Coach Tra'Jan Seay.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Troy: The Colts had a strong fourth quarter against West Bloomfield scoring 14 points in a loss to the Lakers only to see Troy get blown out at home 45-3 by Stoney Creek on Friday night. The Colts are in some trouble right now and need to bounce back. They have Troy Athens looming next week.

Week Three Rankings.

1. Oxford: The Wildcats are starting to roll after an impressive 34-15 win over Lake Orion on Friday night. Oxford is experienced and very good up front which is why they are rolling teams right now. The Wildcats look like they could have a deep postseason run in the future. They have Rochester next week.

2. Clarkston: The Wolves got a chance for everyone to play with an impressive 41-0 win over Troy Athens on Friday night. Getting your backups a chance to play is a big deal in program development which Clarkston has done. South Lyon has helped the Wolves when it comes to the MPR right now. The Wolves are in a great spot right now heading into Adams next week.

3. Stoney Creek: The Cougars bounced back in a big way winning 45-3 over Troy on Friday night. Stoney Creek looks to be back to clicking on all cylinders right now. The Cougars have Bloomfield Hills looming next week. 

4. Harper Woods: The Pioneers are back to normal after a tough 29-20 loss to Chelsea in week one. Harper Woods has been rolling and clicking on all cylinders. The Pioneers have Southfield Arts and Tech looming next week.

5. Groves: The Falcons earned a 35-0 win over Southfield Arts and Tech on Thursday night. Groves has been rolling since their loss to North Farmington. The Raiders fell 35-34 to South Lyon East which is a concern for the Falcons MPR wise and something to watch. They have Seaholm looming next week.

6. Seaholm: The Maples were really impressive in a 41-20 win at Maple Field on Thursday night over Waterford Mott. Seaholm has been rolling since their week one loss to Milford in Ann Arbor. They have found themselves a running back in Theo Matzel who is becoming a star for Coach Jim DeWald. Seaholm has a big game looming with archrival Groves next week.

7. Adams: The Highlanders have found ways to win close games including a 42-41 overtime thriller over West Bloomfield on Friday night. The Highlanders loss to Romeo is not a bad loss at the moment and the 21-19 win against Rochester is huge for the MPR. They have a huge game looming with Clarkston next week.

8. Lake Orion: The Dragons had defensive concerns coming into the season and it showed its ugly head in a 34-15 loss to Oxford on Friday night. Lake Orion struggled offensively in the second half but did not turn the football over which is a good sign. Penalties were an issue as well especially in the second half which cost drives to stall out offensively. The Dragons can fix this and be more disciplined. The MPR is not an issue at the moment with Northville and Oxford both at 3-0, but it could be if they keep struggling. They are in need of a must win when they head to the Swamp to play West Bloomfield next week.

9. West Bloomfield: The Lakers have had some real bad luck when it comes to one-point losses. They fell to Dearborn Fordson 14-13 in week one which is absolutely killing them when it comes to the MPR right now. West Bloomfield also lost to Adams 42-41 in overtime on Friday night. That loss doesn't hurt the Lakers at the moment, but it could in the long run. West Bloomfield has a big game looming with Lake Orion next week.

10. Ferndale: The Eagles are starting to get back into form after an impressive 48-0 win over Berkley on Thursday night. The MPR is very interesting for Ferndale. They beat Madison Heights Lamphere who is 2-1 but they are in Division Four. The Eagles fell to Harper Woods being that they are a Division Three school but it's a good Division Three school so it might not hurt as much. Ferndale is a Division Two school because of the Co-Op program with Ferndale University. The Eagles are starting to get into a groove, and they have Waterford Kettering looming next week.

Week Three Thoughts.

Novi: The Wildcats are in a rough spot after falling 33-6 to Canton at home on Friday night. Novi really struggled on both sides of the football and looks like they are in trouble right now. They have Northville looming next week.

Northville: The Mustangs had to hang on and upset Brighton 35-34 on Friday night. Northville had a 21-0 lead, but Brighton answered and made it uneasy for Northville but the Mustangs stopped a two point attempt to win the game. This is a big win for Northville especially in the KLAA race. They have a huge game with Novi looming next week.

Davison: The Cardinals had a bounce back winning 54-28 at Cardinal Stadium over Traverse City Central on Friday night. Davison's defense is still a concern. They have Saginaw Heritage looming in a big game next week.

Grand Blanc: The Bobcats sent a statement winning 34-0 at Larsen Field over Saginaw Heritage on Friday night. Grand Blanc has shutout their last two opponents 83-0 since surviving against Belleville and earned their first back-to-back shutouts since 2000. Jake DeWitt had three passing touchdowns with two of them to BJ Cleveland. They have Traverse City West looming next week at Thirlby Field.

Clawson: The Trojans had a big 27-14 win over New Haven on Friday night to go to 3-0 on the season. Clawson has been rolling lately which is a great sign for Coach Steve Haney, but Madison Heights Madison is looming in the future. They have Algonac looming next week.

Pontiac: The Phoenix had a rough 40-0 loss to Avondale at home on Friday night. Pontiac has really struggled allowing 136 points in three weeks. They have Berkley looming next week.

Avondale: The Yellow Jackets earned their first win for Coach Isiah Goltrane winning 40-0 over Pontiac on Friday night. Avondale needed a game like this to get some confidence. They have Royal Oak looming next week.

Royal Oak: The Ravens earned a hard fought 27-13 win over Waterford Kettering on Friday night. Royal Oak has turned things around since falling to Seaholm last week. The Ravens have Avondale looming next week.

Waterford Kettering: The Captains took a tough loss falling 27-13 to Royal Oak on Friday night. Waterford Kettering is very competitive right now. They are in a better spot under Coach Bob Meyer. The Captains have a tough matchup looming with Ferndale next week.

Berkley: The Bears had a tough 48-0 loss to Ferndale on Thursday night. Berkley has struggled going 0-3 but they have a chance to turn things around. They have Pontiac looming next week.

Ferndale: The Eagles bounced back winning 48-0 over Berkley on Thursday night. Ferndale has proven they can bounce back. They have Waterford Kettering looming next week.

Harper Woods: The Pioneers blew out Oak Park 54-6 on Friday night. Harper Woods looks like they have turned things around since falling to Chelsea in week one. They have Southfield Arts and Tech looming next week.

Oak Park: The Knights took a tough 54-6 loss to Harper Woods on Friday night. Oak Park really struggled against a really good Pioneers program. They have Waterford Mott looming next week.

Waterford Mott: The Corsairs took a tough 41-20 loss to Seaholm on Thursday night. Waterford Mott had a rough night on both sides of the football and trailed 41-0 at one point. Richard Bowens got benched and Darrius Bracey took over at quarterback. Tori Robinson had to play quarterback in the fourth quarter. Turnovers also doomed the Corsairs This is a really bad loss for Waterford Mott and their Blue hopes. They have Oak Park looming next week.

Seaholm: The Maples were really impressive beating Waterford Mott 41-20 on Thursday night. Will Forberg, Theo Maszel (B-Back,) and Brody Gable were magnificent. Seaholm led 41-0 at one point and never looked back. The Maples are a different team since the loss to Milford in week one. Seaholm has Groves looming next week.

Groves: The Falcons looked crisp all night winning 35-0 over Southfield Arts and Tech on Thursday night. Groves had balance and has looked like a different team since losing to North Farmington in week one. They have Seaholm looming next week.

Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors got a dose of reality on Thursday night falling 35-0 to Groves. Southfield Arts and Tech struggled to move the ball against the Falcons all night. The Warriors have Harper Woods looming next week.

Rochester: The Falcons bounced back after a tough loss to Adams last week by winning 21-10 over Bloomfield Hills on Thursday night. Matt Dyki had two passing touchdowns to Nate Tandy which was the difference and the Falcons defense shut the Black Hawks down holding them to ten points. The Falcons have Oxford looming next week.

Bloomfield Hills: The Black Hawks took their second straight loss falling to Rochester 21-10 on Thursday night. Bloomfield Hills has some injuries they are dealing with. They have Stoney Creek looming next week.

Stoney Creek: The Cougars had no issues with Troy winning 45-3 on Friday night. Stoney Creek bounced back in a big way against the Colts. They have Bloomfield Hills looming next week.

Troy: The Colts really struggled falling 45-3 to Stoney Creek on Friday night. Troy had one good quarter against West Bloomfield but that was it. They struggled against a really good Cougars program. The Colts have Troy Athens looming next week.

Troy Athens: The Red Hawks had a rough night falling 41-0 to Clarkston on Friday night. Troy Athens is really struggling right now. They have Troy looming next week.

Clarkston: The Wolves earned a 41-0 blowout win over Troy Athens on Friday night. Clarkston is clicking on all cylinders right now. They have Adams looming next week.

Adams: The Highlanders survived again winning 42-41 in overtime over West Bloomfield on Friday night. Adams has found multiple ways to win games, but they will have a tough task ahead. They have Clarkston looming next week.

West Bloomfield: The Lakers had a very tough 42-41 overtime loss to Adams on Friday night. West Bloomfield really had trouble with the veer offense of the Highlanders, but the offense was solid all night. Kameron Hall scored a 69-yard touchdown run. Jaxon Carver accounted for five touchdowns four passing and one rushing with two to Hall. They have Lake Orion looming next week.

Oxford: The Wildcats retained the Double O Trophy with a 34-15 win over Lake Orion on Friday night. Oxford was dominant offensively and adjusted defensively in the second half. They have Rochester looming next week.

Lake Orion: The Dragons had a rough second half falling 34-15 to Oxford on Friday night. Lake Orion had penalties which hurt them and the defense stayed on the field way too long which gave the Wildcats long drives which led to touchdowns. They have West Bloomfield looming next week.

Week Three Games.

Here is the week three games this week.

All games are on Friday unless noted 

CLAWSON at New Haven: The Trojans are coming off an emotional 7-0 win at Center Line last week. They host a Rockets team that is 2-0 and is coming off a 34-28 win over St. Clair Shores South Lake last week. This should be a good matchup, and I'll be curious with the coordinator matchup with the Trojans defensive coordinator going up against former Berkley, Madison Heights Lamphere, and Walled Lake Central assistant Jeff Glynn.

Traverse City Central at DAVISON: This will be a prove it game for the Cardinals as Traverse City Central makes the trip from M-72 to Interstate 75 and M-15 toward Davison. The Trojans have a ton of experience but didn't look impressive despite winning 28-14 over Redford Thurston last week. We know what happened to Davison last week. This is a prove it game as mentioned for the Cardinals.

GRAND BLANC at Saginaw Heritage: This could be a highly entertaining game in Saginaw. The Bobcats really wasn't tested winning 48-0 over Flint Carman Ainsworth last week. The Hawks have been battle tested falling 23-13 in week one to Mount Pleasant but got a huge 32-30 win over Midland Dow last week. This game will be interesting for Grand Blanc as Saginaw Heritage plays on grass. This should be a fun matchup and should be WJRT ABC 12, WEYI NBC 25, and WNEM TV 5's games of the week.

Brighton at NORTHVILLE: This will be a huge test for the Mustangs hosting the Bulldogs. Brighton is sitting at 2-0 after blowing out Dexter and Wayne Memorial by a combined 108-7. Northville really struggled last week winning 10-7 over a bad Canton team. This should be a very interesting game.

Plymouth Canton at NOVI: This is the Wildcats first home game and they need to win badly. The Cobras present an opportunity for Novi to get their first win of the season. This is a big game for both teams trying to find their way.

6. LAKE ORION at 1. OXFORD: The Double O Trophy is a fun trophy. The Wildcats won the last two meetings over the Dragons including a 41-34 win at Lake Orion last season. Both teams are better than last season. Oxford is favored on paper, which usually hasn't been a good thing in this rivalry. The Dragons have won at Wildcat Stadium before, so they aren't intimated about the atmosphere. This should be a very interesting matchup.

TROY ATHENS at 2. CLARKSTON: The Wolves will have an official home game after a power outage forced their Stoney Creek game to be moved Clarkston. This should be an opportunity for the Wolves to get their reserves a chance to play. The Red Hawks struggled against Oxford last week. This should be a Wolves rout, but you never know. It's also Clarkston's "Salute to Service night" game.

3. STONEY CREEK at TROY: These are two teams that are coming off tough losses. The Colts got a positive fourth quarter scoring 14 points and making it a game in a 33-21 loss to West Bloomfield last week. The Cougars are coming off a tough 14-7 loss to Clarkston last week. Stoney Creek is favored on paper, but you never know with Troy.

4. WATERFORD MOTT at SEAHOLM: (Thursday) This is a postseason rematch after the Corsairs eliminated the Maples in the district finals in 2023. The Corsairs looks like they have turned things around after winning 35-14 over Avondale last week. The Maples sent a statement winning 50-8 over Royal Oak last week. This should be a very interesting game of two different styles.

10. OAK PARK at 5. HARPER WOODS: This could be a highly entertaining game of two high octane offenses going at it. The Pioneers put 48 up on Ferndale last week while the Knights put 48 up on Waterford Kettering last week. Both teams are capable of scoring points, but defense will be the key heading into this matchup.

7. WEST BLOOMFIELD AT 8. ADAMS: These are two teams that had to survive tough games last week and lost week one. The Lakers had a tough fourth quarter with Troy but managed to get the win. Adams hung on and beat Rochester last week. This should be a fun matchup to see how this goes.

SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH at 9. GROVES: (Thursday) The Falcons got a much-needed bounce back after a tough loss to North Farmington winning 49-6 over Berkley last week. The Warriors got a 33-0 win over Pontiac last week. This should be a very interesting matchup even though Groves is favored on paper.

WATERFORD KETTERING at ROYAL OAK: This is a big game for both teams to see who goes to 2-1 on the season. The Captains were blown out 48-0 by Oak Park last week. The Ravens were blown out 50-8 by Seaholm last week. It's who responds the best should win this game.

BERKLEY at FERNDALE: (Thursday) These are two schools that know each other well. The Eagles ran into a very good Harper Woods program last week. The Bears ran into a very good Groves program last week. Ferndale is favored on paper, but you never know about Berkley.

AVONDALE at PONTIAC: These are two rivals that are struggling. The Phoenix fell 33-0 to Southfield Arts and Tech last week and has scored six points all season. The Yellow Jackets have struggled as well falling to Waterford Mott 35-14 last week. This is a must win game for both teams if they want to make some noise this season.

ROCHESTER at BLOOMFIELD HILLS: (Thursday) This is a very interesting game between two teams that are coming off tough losses. The Black Hawks had two key injuries and it's unknown if they will play this week after falling 44-3 to Lake Orion last week. The Falcons are coming off a heartbreaking 21-19 loss to Adams last week. Rochester had their chances but couldn't get it done. This game will probably prove to be who challenges Stoney Creek for the White.

Week Two Thoughts.

Here are the Week Two Thoughts.

Oxford: The Wildcats had no trouble with Troy Athens winning 49-17 on Thursday night. Oxford looks very good and impressive on both sides of the football. They have a big one looming with Lake Orion in their home opener at Wildcat Stadium next week.

Troy Athens: The Red Hawks are going through a tough stretch falling 49-17 to Oxford on Thursday night. Troy Athens is a very young team after losing a lot from last season. They have Clarkston looming next week.

West Bloomfield: The Lakers had an interesting fourth quarter on Thursday night with Troy winning 33-21. The Colts scored 14 points and had a chance to make it closer, but they got an interception sealing their win. There are concerns looming for Coach Zach Hilbers team. The Lakers have Adams looming next week.

Troy: The Colts had a strong fourth quarter despite falling 33-21 to West Bloomfield on Thursday night. The fourth quarter is something to build on if your Coach Chris Frasier. Troy has Stoney Creek looming next week.

Lake Orion: The Dragons got a big win on Thursday night winning 44-3 over Bloomfield Hills on Thursday night. Lake Orion was sharp offensively scoring 30 points in the first half. The big part for Coach Chris Bell and the Dragons was that they got their reserves critical snaps which is a big deal in building depth. Lake Orion has a big game awaiting them when they head to Oxford next week.

Bloomfield Hills: It was a rough night for the Black Hawks on Thursday night falling 44-3 to Lake Orion. Bloomfield Hills lost two key players to injury and it's unknown if they will play next week against Rochester. The Black Hawks are a different team than last season, they will be fine going forward.

Adams: The Highlanders have some concerns heading into Red play despite winning 21-19 over Rochester on Thursday night. Lorenzo Salazar had a huge touchdown giving the Highlanders the lead and the defense had to hold on by stopping a two-point conversion and recovering the onside kick. Adams has a big test with West Bloomfield looming next week.

Rochester: The Falcons had a 13-0 halftime lead only to see it slip away as Adams scored 21 unanswered points. Rochester got a late touchdown but couldn't get the two-point conversion to tie the game or the onside kick in a 21-19 loss on Thursday night. It was a disappointing night for the Falcons but they will be fine going forward. They have Bloomfield Hills looming next week.

Clarkston: The Wolves had a home game after Stoney Creek had a power outage after two rounds of severe thunderstorms came through the area on Thursday. Clarkston had a hard fought 14-7 win over the Cougars on Thursday night. The Wolves defense was the story holding a high-octane Cougars offense to seven points. Clarkston has Troy Athens looming next week.

Stoney Creek: The Cougars had a tough 14-7 loss to Clarkston on Thursday night. The power outage did not help things with the Cougars. Stoney Creek will be fine going forward. They have Troy looming next week.

Waterford Mott: The Corsairs are getting used to OAA life with a 35-14 win over Avondale on Thursday night. Waterford Mott's offense looks to be on sync after scoring 22 second half points in their win over Troy Athens last week. The defense is struggling a little bit. The Corsairs have Seaholm looming next week.

Avondale: The Yellow Jackets made some progress despite falling 35-14 to Waterford Mott on Thursday night. The defense is still an issue for Avondale allowing 83 points in the last two weeks. The Yellow Jackets have Pontiac looming next week.

Seaholm: The Maples bounced back in a big way winning 50-8 over Royal Oak on Thursday night. Seaholm had a big night from both sides of the football. They have a big one with Waterford Mott looming next week.

Royal Oak: The Ravens were blown out by Seaholm 50-8 on Thursday night. Royal Oak struggled on both sides of the football. This is a setback for Coach Colin Campbell and the Ravens. They have Waterford Kettering looming next week

Groves: The Falcons bounced back after a tough loss to North Farmington last week with a 49-6 win over Berkley on Thursday night. It's also important for Groves to get their reserves some playing time as well. The Falcons have Southfield Arts and Tech looming next week.

Berkley: The Bears are having it rough right now falling 49-6 to Groves at Hurley Field on Thursday night. Berkley has scored six points in two weeks and allowing 91 points as well. Coach Dan Earls has a rough challenge ahead of them and they have Ferndale looming next week.

Harper Woods: The Pioneers bounced back in a big way winning 48-12 over Ferndale on Thursday night. Harper Woods got big plays from their stars and have seem to have recovered over last week's loss to Chelsea. Harper Woods has Oak Park looming next week.

Ferndale: It was a rough night for the Eagles falling 48-12 to Harper Woods on Thursday night. Ferndale will be fine though especially going against a veteran Pioneers team. The Eagles have Berkley looming next week.

Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors had an interesting game with Pontiac on Friday night winning. They have a tough matchup looming with Groves next week.

Pontiac: The Phoenix had a tough night with Southfield Arts and Tech falling on Friday night. Pontiac has Avondale looming next week.

Oak Park: The Knights had an interesting game with Waterford Kettering on Friday night winning 48-0 in Knight Valley. They have Harper Woods looming next week.

Waterford Kettering: The Captains had a rough night with Oak Park falling 48-0 on Friday night in Knight Valley. They have Royal Oak looming next week.

Grand Blanc: The Bobcats were dominant on Thursday night at "The Don" winning 48-0 over Flint Carman Ainsworth. Grand Blanc got a ton of their reserves to play which is a big deal especially for the future. The Bobcats have a big game looming with Saginaw Heritage next week.

Davison: The Cardinals had a rough night with Novi Detroit Catholic Central falling 56-14 on Friday night. Davison will be fine. They have a tough matchup with Traverse City Central looming next week.

Clawson: The Trojans had an interesting game with Center Line winning 7-0 on Friday night. Clawson is clicking on both sides of the football. They have New Haven looming next week.

Novi: The Wildcats had a tough 26-14 loss to Salem on Thursday night. Novi is better than last season, but they are 0-2 which is a concern. The Wildcats need to find a way to turn things around in a hurry. They have Canton looming next week.

Northville: The Mustangs had to survive 10-7 against Canton on Thursday night. It's unknown if Northville had a hangover after the emotional double overtime win against Lake Orion in week one or if they were looking ahead to Brighton next week. It was a very odd game that the Mustangs struggled and had to get the winning field goal with less than a minute left. Northville has a ton of work to do heading into next week.

Here are the rankings heading into week three.

1. Oxford: The Wildcats have been impressive in their last two games against Hartland and Troy Athens on both sides of the football. Oxford has been rolling offensively. The Wildcats have a big game looming against archrival Lake Orion this week.

2. Clarkston: The Wolves earned a hard fought 14-7 win over Stoney Creek on Thursday night. Clarkston was very good defensively against a really good offense in Stoney Creek. The Wolves are clicking on all cylinders right now.

3. Stoney Creek: The Cougars had a tough situation with the power outage and falling 14-7 to Clarkston on Thursday night. Stoney Creek will be fine going forward despite this tough loss.

4. Waterford Mott: The Corsairs are getting used to the OAA with an impressive 35-14 win over Avondale on Thursday night. Waterford Mott has some questions defensively, but they are fine heading into their game with Seaholm looming this week.

5. Harper Woods: The Pioneers bounced back in a big way winning 48-12 over Ferndale on Thursday night. The stars showed up in a big way for Harper Woods. They have Oak Park looming next week.

6. Lake Orion: The Dragons got a bounce back win over Bloomfield Hills winning 44-3 last week. The offense has been in sync despite the injuries to two of their star players. The defense is still a concern with Lake Orion. The Dragons have a big one looming with Oxford next week.

7. West Bloomfield: The Lakers had trouble with Troy despite winning 33-21 last week. The fourth quarter is a concern for West Bloomfield. They have Adams looming next week.

8. Adams: The Highlanders needed to survive 21-19 against Rochester on Thursday night. Adams has some concerns heading into Red play and they have West Bloomfield next week.

9. Groves: The Falcons bounced back in a big way winning 49-6 over Berkley on Thursday night. Groves needed this after a tough loss to North Farmington. They have Southfield Arts and Tech looming next week.

TEAM THAT NEEDS A HUG: Rochester: The Falcons saw a 13-0 halftime lead disappear in the second half in a stunning second half where archrival Adams outscored Rochester 21-6 in a stunning 21-19 loss to the Highlanders on Thursday night. The Falcons had a chance to tie the game but missed the two-point conversion and didn't get the onside kick. Rochester has Bloomfield Hills looming next week in a must win situation.

RELAX: Stoney Creek: The Cougars fought hard with what happened at Stoney Creek with having no power which caused the game to be moved to Clarkston. It was a back and forth battle on Thursday night with the Wolves winning 14-7. Stoney Creek will be fine. Their goals are still ahead of them. The Cougars have Troy looming next week.
