The Blackhawks continued their dominance on the tennis court.
Bloomfield Hills won their third straight Division One State tennis title on Saturday afternoon at Byron Center with 35 points. Troy was second with 27 points, Stoney Creek was tied for fifth with 12 points, Troy Athens was tied for seventh with 10 points, Rochester and Adams were tied for 12th with six points, and Clarkston was 17th was one points.
The Blackhawks were led by the Shaya brothers (Pierce and Conner) won their respective individual titles. Zev Spiegel also won a singles division as well. Bloomfield Hills won two of the three doubles flights as well.
Pierce never lost a set in singles in his career going 81-0. He will head to Ann Arbor next fall. Connor had a more challenging path but managed to get three titles.
Bloomfield Hills also has depth which they should be in the mix next season.
We'll see what happens heading into next season.
