Postseason Dreams.

Here are the postseason dreams and matchups for each team that is locked or on the bubble after week eight.

Harper Woods: 59- 5-3, 5th in Division Four. LOCKED: The Pioneers strength of schedule has helped improve their stock. They sit in a really good spot to host multiple postseason games despite the 5-3 record. If they lose to Detroit East English Village Prep in week nine, that could hurt them in that quest. They trail Madison Heights Lamphere (63.2) which is significant at the moment because they are a team they could see in the district finals. Harper Woods is a lock for the postseason but the matchup in the first round is yet to be determined. According to Snooze should they win they could see Redford Union first which they won 43-21 in week one which is a good matchup for them despite being on the road. The Pioneers could see Detroit Southeastern should they make it. Harper Woods is in a good spot whether they are at home or have to go on the road.

Avondale: 53.3- 5-3, 14th in Division Three. LOCKED: The Yellow Jackets fell 34-12 to Stoney Creek on Friday night but their wins have got them locked into the postseason. They play Carleton Airport in week nine. Avondale has a ton of postseason options. They could be sent east to Port Huron which is an option. The worst case is if they have to go to Fenton in the first round and then play Walled Lake Western in the district finals. The best case for Avondale which Snooze has is they host two playoff games which includes Warren Fitzgerald and then the winner of Garden City and Redford Thurston before having to see Walled Lake Western in the regional finals. The Yellow Jackets have a ton of options where to go come in the postseason.

Ferndale: 51.5- 5-3, 33rd in Division Two. MUST WIN: The Eagles did their job and won 27-20 over Southfield Arts and Tech on Friday night but they took a hit in the rankings after Midland Dow's 23-14 win over Lapeer, Temperance Bedford's 33-0 win over Monroe, and Lincoln Park's 19-7 win over Brownstown Woodhaven. The Eagles need to win on their senior night over Utica Ford II to get into the postseason. If they do get in it's most likely they will see Groves according to Snooze. If the Eagles lose then their postseason dreams are gone.

Farmington: 53.5- 5-3, 27th in Division Two. LOCKED: The Falcons knew it was going to be a tall task against Lake Orion falling 27-6 on Friday night. This is where they need to win in Dearborn against a 5-3 and solid Dearborn Heights Crestwood team. They should be a lock regardless but safe to be sorry is to win. If they win they could possibly host a postseason game which they do according to Snooze with Livonia Franklin. It's a big week for Farmington especially with multiple teams 49 or below that is trying to get into the field.

North Farmington: 56.6- 5-3, 24th in Division Two. LOCKED: The Raiders had a tough 28-0 loss to Adams on Friday night but they fully remain in the postseason field despite the loss. North Farmington has an opportunity to end Troy's postseason dreams in week nine with a win at Ron Holland Field on their homecoming. The Raiders postseason matchups looks like they could see arch rival Farmington in the first round or later. They could see South Lyon East or Livonia Franklin as well. I would be surprised if they see Orchard Lake St. Marys, Groves, or Seaholm first but that's what North Farmington is dealt with.

Seaholm: 61.3- 6-2, 13th in Division Two. LOCKED: The Maples had a really tough 34-3 loss to West Bloomfield on Friday night which put them in position to maybe start on the road in the postseason. They could see Groves again which they see in week nine which looks to be the most likely scenario although Warren Mott (according to Snooze), North Farmington, and Farmington are possible options as well but they will have to see Groves at some point in the postseason.

Groves: 73.6- 8-0, 4th in Division Two. LOCKED: The Falcons are locked into the postseason. They have Seaholm this week. The concern for Groves is they haven't been tested and if they get Orchard Lake St. Marys in the first round that could be very dangerous and that could happen (5-3, 53.) There are other options like Warren Cousino (likely opponent according to Snooze,) Seaholm, Farmington, Livonia Franklin, Ferndale, South Lyon East, or North Farmington which is possible first round postseason opponents but if they get the Eaglets first, that could be big time trouble for the Falcons.

Rochester: 42.5- 3-5, 39th in Division One. MUST WIN AND NEED HELP: The Falcons are in a very interesting spot when it comes to the postseason. Rochester needs to win against Walled Lake Northern and get help from Southfield Arts and Tech, Fraser, and Berkley, all those teams need to win in week nine. It's a long shot but anything is possible.

Troy: 45.8- 4-4, 32nd in Division One. MUST WIN: The Colts saved their season with a 21-14 win over Troy Athens on Friday night but they need to win at Ron Holland Field against North Farmington. They will need Troy Athens to beat Fraser which would help. If Troy loses to the Raiders they are eliminated. This is a must win game for Troy, you win, your in, if not they are done.

Stoney Creek: 53.2- 4-4, 25th in Division One. LOCKED: The Cougars did their job and won 49-12 over Avondale on Friday night. Stoney Creek is looking at several situations in the postseason, they could go to Lake Orion, Oxford, Adams, or the worse case Swinehart (Utica Eisenhower.) They have Ann Arbor Huron in week nine. Coach Rick Powell has done a wonderful job taking the Cougars into the postseason.

West Bloomfield: 57.1- 4-4, 21st in Division One. LOCKED: The Lakers did what they needed to do against Seaholm winning 34-3 on Friday night. West Bloomfield is still need to be in postseason mode despite being locked into the postseason. They have Roseville in week nine and a matchup with Novi Detroit Catholic Central is possible, they could go to Detroit Cass Tech (which Snooze has), or they could go north which is also possible. There are options with West Bloomfield when it comes to the postseason.

Clarkston: 60.7- 5-3, 15th in Division One. LOCKED: The Wolves had no issue winning 41-0 over Bloomfield Hills on Friday night. Clarkston has Utica Eisenhower in week nine. The Wolves have multiple options, going north to Grand Blanc or Davison seems possible which I believe Clarkston matches up extremely well along with going toward West Bloomfield is another option but they could see Novi Detroit Catholic Central if they head south, they could go east and see rivals Oxford and Lake Orion thus sending Adams and Stoney Creek east. Overall there are a ton of options for Clarkston when it comes to the postseason.

Adams: 69.8- 6-2, 9th in Division One. LOCKED: The Highlanders have been locked in the postseason field after winning 28-0 over North Farmington on Friday night. Adams has New Baltimore Anchor Bay in week nine which is a difficult matchup. Adams could see Lake Orion, Oxford, Stoney Creek, or Clarkston in the first round. They could have Utica Eisenhower in the district which is the worse case for them but they could avoid Utica Eisenhower if the Eagles go east and see their fellow Macomb Area Conference Red rivals. Overall the Highlanders have options, they could also host two games which would be huge for them.

Oxford: 68.8- 6-2, 10th in Division One. LOCKED: The Wildcats are locked into the postseason field despite winning 49-12 over Oak Park on Friday night. The strongest non conference win is Harper Woods which is why Oxford is where they are at. They have a big one with Macomb Dakota in week nine which is a difficult matchup. The Wildcats could go north to Genesee and Lapeer counties or they could go south and see arch rivals Lake Orion, Adams, and maybe Clarkston. Oxford wins they could get a home postseason game but a lot has to go right for things to work out which are out of their control.

Lake Orion: 72.1- 6-2, 8th in Division One. LOCKED: The Dragons had no issue winning 27-6 over Farmington on Friday night. Northville is the big reason (5-3, 60) why Lake Orion is up on Oxford despite falling to the Wildcats. They have Saline in week nine which is a difficult matchup. The Dragons could go east and see Adams thats an option. They could see Stoney Creek according to Snooze. The worse case for Lake Orion is Utica Eisenhower in their district and going on the road which could happen if they lose to Saline. The Dragons have a ton of options right now.
