It looks like Oxford Varsity Football Coach Zach Line will be heading back to the NFL.
According to Football Scoop and confirmed by an accurate source Oxford Coach Zach Line will leave Oxford to have a reunion with Coach Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos.
Line spent four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and three seasons for Payton with the New Orleans Saints. He played college football at SMU.
Line will assist the special teams with the Broncos.
Line went to his alumni school in 2020 after retiring from the NFL taking over for legendary coach Bud Rowley. He led the Wildcats to four postseason appearances posting a 19-28 record which included upset postseason wins over Clarkston (38-28, 2021) and Davison (21-14, 2024.)
Line led the Wildcats to their first Red crown in school history going 6-3 this past season.
It is unknown who will take over at Oxford. The Wildcats have had a lot of success with in house hires (boys basketball-Joe Fedorinchik, girls basketball-Trevor Marshall.)
Oxford will have a proven nucleus with Jack Hendrix at quarterback and Preston Wilder at running back coming back. Program strength should be solid for the new coach who takes over for the Wildcats.
