Girls Basketball Storylines.

The Gold is off to a very interesting start. Ferndale University sits at 3-0 but the schedule has been very manageable for the Eagles. Waterford in their first OAA game fell 60-33 to Troy. Oak Park it's hard to judge them since they haven't played a game yet. Pontiac got blown out 66-5 by Auburn Hills Oakland Christian which is a cause for concern. Farmington is 2-1 in their final year in the OAA but is coming off a loss to Walled Lake Northern. North Farmington has bounced back nicely since their only loss to Walled Lake Western.

The Blue could be very interesting as well. Southfield Arts and Tech had a split week falling to Canton but bounced back winning by 40 over Warren Michigan Collegiate. Harper Woods has put things since falling to Farmington Hills Mercy with two blowout wins. Troy Athens looks to be much improved after two wins. Troy is also 2-0 after two solid wins. Adams had a tough loss to Stoney Creek but they will be fine. Can't judge Ferndale yet since they haven't played yet.

The White looks to be very competitive. Groves sits at 0-2 but they get a pass because they have played two very good teams. Berkley who is also 0-2 gets a pass as well with playing two very good teams. Avondale had a tough loss to Rochester but they will be fine. Bloomfield Hills split their two games falling to a very good Orchard Lake St. Marys program. Royal Oak has some questions defensively after falling 49-46 to Ann Arbor Huron. Seaholm is a mystery defensively which they are going through some offensive woes.

The Red should be very interesting. Oxford had a statement 48-47 win over Macomb Dakota behind Katelyn Brockway's 25 points after getting blown out by Orchard Lake St. Marys opening night. West Bloomfield had a tough loss to a very good Wayne Memorial program. Clarkston is off to a strong start at 3-0 and has been battle tested with a very young roster. Stoney Creek also sits at 3-0 after three close games but warning signs are still there with this team. Rochester is off to a 2-0 start after big wins over Davison and Avondale. Lake Orion is off to a rough start especially on the offensive end which that could be their issue all season long. The Dragons are also a very young team that is going through some growing pains as well.

I'll have more on this on the podcast.
