Here is my insight on the State quarterfinal matchup between West Bloomfield and Troy.
WEST BLOOMFIELD vs TROY
EARLY THOUGHTS: This is an interesting rematch of two Red rivals taking place at Callahan Hall on the campus of Detroit Mercy. West Bloomfield won both meetings this season 66-18 at West Bloomfield and 78-53 at Troy and it’s always hard to beat a team three times in one season. The Lakers are coming into this quarterfinal matchup being on the road for the first time this postseason. They feature the Davis sisters (Summer and Indya), the Hendrix sisters (Sydney and Kendall), and future Detroit Mercy player Myonna Hooper. The Colts haven’t had to leave the city of Troy this postseason with their district being at home and regional being at Troy Athens. They feature Kendal Zeiter, Charlotte Sobotka, and Alyssa Matuza. This is shaping up to be a very interesting matchup of star power with the winner heading to the Breslin Center to meet either Rockford or East Lansing in the Division One State Semifinals. This should be a fun one to watch.
