Here is my early preview for the Girls Lacrosse Regionals.

Regional 3 at Troy Athens

 

Grosse Pointe South vs Clinton Township

Grosse Pointe South/Clinton Township vs ROYAL OAK

 

Utica Eisenhower vs TROY

Utica Eisenhower/TROY vs Utica Ford II

 

WEST BLOOMFIELD vs TROY ATHENS

WEST BLOOMFIELD/TROY ATHENS vs BIRMINGHAM

 

Grosse Pointe North vs Detroit Cass Tech

Grosse Pointe North/Detroit Cass Tech vs BLOOMFIELD HILLS

 

REGIONAL OUTLOOK: This regional looks to be a two team regional between Birmingham United and Bloomfield Hills. Both teams have been solid and look to make some noise in the postseason. Clinton Township and Troy are possible darkhorses but I don’t know if they match up with the two top teams mentioned. I have to give the edge to the Blackhawks but don’t count the Bulldogs out in this regional.

 

Regional 4 at Oxford

Grand Blanc vs Fenton

Grand Blanc/Fenton vs Davison

 

LAKE ORION vs OXFORD

LAKE ORION/OXFORD vs Hartland

 

REGIONAL OUTLOOK: This is a really interesting regional at Oxford. The favorite is Hartland with the experience and they are state ranked. Lake Orion is a team to really watch. The Dragons are state ranked and have been playing really well recently. Midland and Grand Blanc are darkhorse teams to watch. I see this being a Hartland/Midland regional final with the Eagles moving on to the State semifinals because of experience.

 

Regional 6 at Ann Arbor Skyline

Ann Arbor Skyline/Dexter vs Wixom St. Catherine Sienna

NORTH FARMINGTON vs FARMINGTON

NORTH FARMINGTON/FARMINGTON vs Temperance Bedford

 

Dearborn Divine Child vs Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard

Dearborn Divine Child/Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard vs Farmington Hills Mercy

 

REGIONAL OUTLOOK: This looks to be a very interesting regional. Dearborn Divine Child is the early favorite but keep an eye on Farmington Hills Mercy, Wixom St. Catherine Sienna Academy, and North Farmington. Looking at this regional though the Falcons should cruse into the State semifinals but it won’t surprise anyone if they get upset.

 

Regional 7 at Pontiac Notre Dame Prep

Bloomfield Hills Sacred Heart Academy vs ROCHESTER

Bloomfield Hills Sacred Heart Academy/ROCHESTER vs Pontiac Notre Dame Prep

 

REGIONAL OUTLOOK: This is a really tough regional when looking at it. There are four teams that are state ranked in Birmingham Detroit Country Day, Stoney Creek, Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood, and Birmingham Marian. Adams and Rochester are possible darkhorses in this regional. I see a Yellow Jackets/Cougars regional finals. I like Birmingham Detroit Country Day to move on to the State semifinals.
