It has been a long while since an athletic class like this have been this dominant throughout the State of Michigan.

The class of 2023 at Adams could go down as one of the best athletic classes in recent sports memory.

The Highlanders have accomplished a lot this fall. They won the Division One State title in Girls Golf by an impressive 47 strokes and won the Division One State crown in soccer. The football team is in the regional finals. Their cross country program was solid this season.

The boys soccer run has been incredible this postseason. Adams stunned top ranked Troy in penalty kicks last week after coming back twice against the Colts in the regional semifinals. That game proved a lot to Highlander nation. They would beat Rockford in the State finals which was their first crown since 1999. It is the second State title in the last few weeks.

The Highlanders made the Division One State finals in football after falling to Belleville in 2021. They had a strong year again making the postseason behind a senior heavy team but fell 36-33 to Clarkston on the final play of the game in the regional final.

Adams has shown their dominance this winter. They finished second to Rochester in the Division One Competitive Cheerleading State Finals as part of that title going from one part of Rochester to the other. They won the Division One State Cheerleading crown in 2021.

The boys basketball team is having a special season after having multiple strong showings making the Division One regional semifinals last season. They won their first regional crown in school history after beating Clarkston three times including in the regional finals. Coach Jared Thomas in his three years at Adams has brought the program back to the John Hall days which says something. They fell to Grand Blanc in the Division One State Quarterfinals at Lake Orion. Thomas stepped down from the Highlanders this offseason and is at Avondale.

The Highlanders has been solid in the spring sports especially baseball, softball, golf, girls soccer, and track and field this season.

Adams has added a boys track regional, baseball district, and a Oakland County boys golf and regional crown this spring.

Adams has had a very strong feeder program. They have Van Hoosen and West Middle Schools that sends students to Adams. Van Hoosen is next door to Adams and more often than not has usually hosted a lot of their events at Adams.

There is no doubt that this class has been very special and they will be looking for more hardware to add to the trophy case at Adams before they graduate.
