TIM 93-39

STICK 94-38

COTTER 107-25

Rochester at Adams: It’s no secret that the Falcons have had problems against their city rivals in the past but this Rochester team feels different. They are coming off an emotional 21-20 win over Stoney Creek last week. Alex Bueno threw the game tying five yard touchdown to running back Grant Calcagno and Alex Osentowski added the winning extra point. They have another city rival to deal with this week. Parker Picot had six touchdowns for the Highlanders in a 49-35 shootout win over Lake Orion last week. The Falcons have not beaten their city rivals from Adams and Tienken Road since 1996 (24 straight losses) and they fell 34-18 to Adams in week two. For Rochester to win this game they need their offense to stay on the field if not then it could be a long night in front of the Gold Rush and Picot.

SANDY DUNES: ADAMS 49, ROCHESTER 14.

BURNEY: ADAMS 37, ROCHESTER 21.

DUNLAP: ADAMS 31, ROCHESTER 14.

TIM: ADAMS 42, ROCHESTER 7.

STICK: ADAMS over ROCHESTER.

COTTER: ADAMS 42, ROCHESTER 14.

Clarkston at Davison: The Battle of M-15 is what this matchup is dubbed. This is a rematch of a 28-21 Cardinals win over the Wolves at Michigan Stadium in week one. Clarkston’s defense has been a major concern the last few weeks. They have allowed 41 points twice (Lake Orion, Lapeer) which is alarming considering they have big time players in Cavanugh Diton, Nick Wzchensko, and Desman Stephens on this side of the football. Davison has a really good quarterback in Brayden Himmelein and running back Jaylen Flowers. Himmelein had five touchdowns against Flint Carman Ainsworth while Flowers had three total touchdowns (two receiving and one rushing) a few weeks ago. Both Flowers and Himmelein were factors in balancing the football against Clarkston in week one. Flowers and fellow running back AJ Hill went over 100 yards each in that game. The Cardinals have also been solid on defense all season long but they will get tested by a stout quarterback in Mike Hein, along with a very talented offensive line led by Cole Dellinger, and a really good running back in Ethan Clark. Clark has been on fire all season despite only having 69 rushing yards in week one and Hein recently came back against Lapeer last week. This should be a really good game on D-TV and in Genesee County.

SANDY DUNES: CLARKSTON 49, DAVISON 45.

BURNEY: CLARKSTON 33, DAVISON 28.

DUNLAP: CLARKSTON 31, DAVISON 30.

TIM: CLARKSTON 38, DAVISON 17.

STICK: CLARKSTON over DAVISON.

COTTER: DAVISON 38, CLARKSTON 35.

Detroit Cass Tech at Southfield Arts and Tech: This is a rematch of a 56-54 Warriors win that went overtime over the Technicians in week one. Detroit Cass Tech is playing with nothing to lose since beating Detroit Martin Luther King earning the outright Detroit Public School League crown in week eight. They stunned Birmingham Brother Rice a week later at Bloomfield Hills but there was no bigger stunner when they went into the Swamp and stunned West Bloomfield 38-13 last week. Sean Hodges had 310 rushing yards and two 90 yard scores. The Technicians has had really good quarterback play behind Leshawn Mumfield and wide receiver Cory Sadler. Both of them had big games against the Lakers as well. Southfield Arts and Tech might have the best quarterback in the State in Isiah Marshall. Marshall accounted for eight touchdowns and had the winning two point conversion in that game. The game took two days because of fan unrest which they moved the game from Lawrence Tech University to Southfield but with no fans. I’m not sure what the protocol will be for this game on Saturday afternoon. This should be another shootout with a ton of offense.

SANDY DUNES: DETROIT CASS TECH 66, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 60.

BURNEY: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 45, DETROIT CASS TECH 44.

DUNLAP: DETROIT CASS TECH 49, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 47.

TIM: DETROIT CASS TECH 39, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 20.

STICK: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH over DETROIT CASS TECH.

COTTER: DETROIT CASS TECH 49, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 42.

Groves at Seaholm: These two rivals are no strangers to one another in another installment of the Battle of Birmingham. It wasn’t a surprise that when the pairings came out that this would be the district final. Groves blew out Warren Mott 43-7 while Seaholm blew out Ferndale 46-6 last week. The Falcons have won 10 of the last 12 meetings including a 14-7 victory over the Maples two weeks ago in Beverly Hills. Seaholm has the proven playmakers but they have not fared well against Groves. Both defenses have been very good lately. This game should come down to the offense and which style wins this game.

SANDY DUNES: SEAHOLM 17, GROVES 14.

BURNEY: GROVES 29, SEAHOLM 24.

DUNLAP: SEAHOLM 14, GROVES 10.

TIM: SEAHOLM 23, GROVES 17.

STICK: GROVES over SEAHOLM.

COTTER: SEAHOLM 21, GROVES 14.

Games that impact OAA Teams

Romeo at Macomb Dakota: These two Macomb Area Red Conference rivals are no strangers to one another. This is a rematch of a 21-14 Cougars victory over the Bulldogs at Romeo a few weeks ago. Expect this game to be close again on 21 Mile Road.

SANDY DUNES: ROMEO 24, MACOMB DAKOTA 21.

BURNEY: MACOMB DAKOTA 26, ROMEO 23.

DUNLAP: MACOMB DAKOTA 27, ROMEO 17.

TIM: MACOMB DAKOTA 28, ROMEO 17.

STICK: MACOMB DAKOTA over ROMEO.

COTTER: MACOMB DAKOTA 28, ROMEO 14.

Temperance Bedford at Livonia Franklin: These two teams are no strangers to one another. The Patriots have won three of their last four games against the Mules. It should be a very interesting matchup of two teams that run two different styles. The winner will see either Groves or Seaholm in the regional finals.

SANDY DUNES: LIVONIA FRANKLIN 35, TEMPERANCE BEDFORD 27.

BURNEY: LIVONIA FRANKLIN 34, TEMPERANCE BEDFORD 25.

DUNLAP: TEMPERANCE BEDFORD 21, LIVONIA FRANKLIN 20.

TIM: LIVONIA FRANKLIN 27, TEMPERANCE BEDFORD 14.

STICK: LIVONIA FRANKLIN over TEMPERANCE BEDFORD.

COTTER: LIVONIA FRANKLIN 35, TEMPERANCE BEDFORD 21.
