Week Thirteen Recap.

Caledonia 21, CLARKSTON 0. The Fighting Scots defense was the difference on Saturday afternoon in the Division One State Semifinals at DeWitt. Caledonia forced three interceptions on three straight drives and forced the Wolves to punt or turn the football over on downs numerous times. Mason McKenzie had a 17 yard passing touchdown to Derrick Pennington but the story was the Fighting Scots rushing attack and what they did to the Clarkston defense. They had 49 carries for 240 rushing yards as a team. Blake Herron had a 28 yard rushing score followed by. Brock Townsend had a great game for Caledonia as he made a touchdown saving tackle on running back Ethan Clark, he added a one yard touchdown, and got an interception as well. The Fighting Scots were the better team in this game. Clarkston was shut out for the first time since 2019. The Wolves lose a lot of senior experience next season including Clark whom had 22 carries for 135 yards along with Cole Dellinger, Mike Hein, and others. They have Desman Stephens, Blake Kosin, and the Bowman twins coming back. Clarkston should be a player next season, they always are.

Warren DeLaSalle 43, GROVES 15. It was going to be a very tough matchup for the Falcons on Saturday afternoon at Troy Athens in the Division Two Semifinals. Warren DeLaSalle started off red hot scoring 14 points in the first four minutes and cruised to a 43-15 win over Groves. The Pilots hot start and sudden kickoff recovery which led to a touchdowns forced the Falcons play from behind something that Groves wasn't accustomed too. The Falcons scored on a 60 yard pick six from Chris Little and got the two point conversion. They also got a 24 yard passing score from Cayden Hardy to Jack Wainer as well. Groves had a good year in which they overcame a ton of adversity. They had two big wins over Seaholm along with wins over Livonia Franklin and Harper Woods. The Falcons have a lot coming back next season which is a great sign for the future.
