Novi will have a new Varsity Football Coach this fall.

According to Hometown Life's Brandon Folsom, Wildcats coach Jim Sparks has stepped down at Novi after five seasons with the program.

Sparks went 25-24 in his five years with Novi leading them to the postseason except this past season where they went 3-6 but did take the Baseline Jug from Northville on a winning field goal. The Wildcats fell to West Bloomfield twice, Novi Detroit Catholic Central, and archrival Northville in the first round of each postseason besides this past season under Sparks.

The Wildcats will be in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association Black Division this season. Novi will join the OAA in the 2027-2028 school year.

The Wildcats should be improved heading into this season. Novi could be a postseason team despite having a tough schedule which includes Belleville and archrival Northville. They will have a new coach and a new direction before they head to the OAA in two years.

Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing story.
