Waterford Mott has their new boys basketball coach.
The Corsairs named Andrew Myers as their new coach. He takes over for Jeff Jayson who became the new coach at Macomb Community College last month.
Sean Cotter confirmed the news.
Myers and soon to be West Bloomfield Athletic Director Shane Hynes have ties to when they were students at Clarkston. Myers coached at Pontiac leading the Phoenix to a 13-9 season in the 2023-2024 school year but was surprisingly let go before the season started in 2024.
Waterford Mott went 16-7 falling 59-38 to Clarkston in the district semifinals last season. They have some serious questions when it comes to program strength that Myers needs to address. The Corsairs have Jasiah Benton, Milan Bland, Greg White, and Keegan Talley coming back.
Waterford Mott will be in the White with Rochester, Stoney Creek, Bloomfield Hills, Oxford, and Lake Orion next season.
