Shane Hynes has been around the OAA lately.
First, it was at Troy then it was at Waterford Kettering, then it was Waterford Mott, and then it was West Bloomfield. Then finally Hynes settled on becoming the next Athletic Director at Clarkston.
His post on X confirms the news that he is the Athletic Director at Clarkston.
Hynes is a Clarkston alum. He takes over for Jeff Kosin who retired earlier this month after serving 10 years replacing legendary Athletic Director and boys' basketball coach Dan Fife in 2017. Hynes was also Clarkston's longtime kicker before having a successful college career before returning to Oakland County. Hynes continues to mentor kickers throughout Oakland County
Hynes was leaving Waterford Mott for West Bloomfield at the end of the month, but it looks like things have changed according to multiple sources.
Hynes departure from West Bloomfield leaves them in a pickle. The Lakers are looking for a new athletic director and a new boys basketball coach after Coach Arnette Jordan stepped down earlier in June.
Hynes will have control of Clarkston's future schedule for all sports along with Clarkston and Sashabaw Middle Schools. Clarkston has 2,090 students which makes them one of the biggest enrollments in the State of Michigan.
Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing story.
