Harper Woods has their new boys basketball coach.
The Pioneers named Stepfon Moore as their boys basketball coach. Moore takes over for Coach TaJuan Porter who stepped down at the end of the season.
Sean Cotter and The D-Zone confirmed the news.
Moore was an assistant at Warren Lincoln under Coach Wydell Henry in which the Abes won back to back Division Two State crowns in 2024 and 2025.
Harper Woods went 12-10 and clinched a share of the Gold with Southfield Arts and Tech and Oak Park. The Pioneers beat Detroit East English Village Prep 54-38 in the first round but fell 51-35 to Detroit Edwin Denby Tech in the district semifinals last season.
Harper Woods will be a very interesting program to watch and program strength will be worth watching as well. The Pioneers will be in the Blue with Troy, Troy Athens, Pontiac, Seaholm and Royal Oak. They are in Division One for districts with Detroit Cass Tech, Detroit Martin Luther King, Hamtramck, Grosse Pointe North, and Grosse Pointe South.
