The Bears have a new girls basketball coach after a turbulent coaching search.
Berkley named Cody Feltner as their new head coach on Friday and confirmed by the MHSAA basketball team website.
Feltner is new to the Berkley area. He used to coach at Ferndale for one season in 2016. He takes over for Kirk Carolan who took an assistant coaching job at Macomb Community College.
Feltner has several key players coming back in Ashley Loon, Ava Beard, Sammi Withrow, and Aurora Sousians coming back. He will need to address program strength though.
It will be very interesting to see how the transition goes. They are in a very difficult division in the White with Lake Orion, Oxford, Troy Athens, North Farmington, Adams, Rochester, and Bloomfield Hills. They also have a really tough district with Detroit Renaissance, Detroit Mumford, Royal Oak, and Oak Park.
It will be very interesting to see what happens.
