These are the official volleyball districts. These will also be updated with the most updated information.

District 18 at Farmington Hills Mercy

FARMINGTON

SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH

Farmington Hills Mercy

Livonia Stevenson

Detroit Henry Ford

FAVORITE: Farmington Hills Mercy

NEXT: Livonia Stevenson

DARKHORSE: Farmington

EARLY THOUGHTS: This is not a very strong district. Farmington Hills Mercy is the early favorite and they have home court advantage. Livonia Stevenson and Farmington may have chances but really  don’t see anyone beating the Marlins and Coach Loretta Vogel at home.

District 22 at Berkley

BERKLEY

OAK PARK

ROYAL OAK

Detroit Renaissance

Detroit Mumford

Warren Mott

FAVORITE: Berkley

NEXT: Detroit Renaissance

DARKHORSE: Royal Oak

EARLY THOUGHTS: This is looking like it could be Berkley/Detroit Renaissance Part Three. The Bears are loaded this season. Warren Mott and Royal Oak could be darkhorses in this district. Berkley has had the Phoenix number in volleyball, softball, and girls basketball in the past two years. Could it be three for three???

District 23 at Grosse Pointe North

HARPER WOODS

Grosse Pointe North

Grosse Pointe South

Hamtramck

St. Clair Shores Lakeview

FAVORITE: St. Clair Shores Lakeview

NEXT: Grosse Pointe North

DARKHORSE: Grosse Pointe South

EARLY THOUGHTS: Welcome to Division One Harper Woods, the Pioneers will experience some new challenges. They will play both the Grosse Pointe schools plus St. Clair Shores Lakeview, and Hamtramck. It will be a very tough task for Harper Woods with both Grosse Pointe’s and St. Clair Shores Lakeview. It will be very tough matchups to say the least.

District 25 at Bloomfield Hills

BLOOMFIELD HILLS

GROVES

SEAHOLM

NORTH FARMINGTON

Birmingham Marian

FAVORITE: Birmingham Marian

NEXT: Bloomfield Hills

DARKHORSE: Seaholm

EARLY THOUGHTS: Birmingham Marian reminds me of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Mustangs have a ton of experience coming back. Bloomfield Hills should be Birmingham Marian’s toughest challenger. Seaholm is the darkhorse. North Farmington is improving and Groves is getting there as well. This district looks like it’s the Mustangs to lose.

District 26 at Troy

TROY

TROY ATHENS

AVONDALE

ROCHESTER

ADAMS

STONEY CREEK

FAVORITE: Adams

NEXT: Troy

DARKHORSE: Stoney Creek

EARLY PROJECTIONS: This is a pick em district. All six teams have a chance to win this district. Adams is the favorite with the talent they have coming back. Stoney Creek should be solid this season. Troy is well coached and has home court. Rochester and Troy Athens are very tough and hardworking teams. This is a very competitive district. Whoever wins this district would have earned it.

District 31 at Clarkston

CLARKSTON

LAKE ORION

OXFORD

PONTIAC

Waterford Kettering

Waterford Mott

FAVORITE: Clarkston

NEXT: Lake Orion

DARKHORSE: Oxford

EARLY THOUGHTS: This is a very interesting district. Lake Orion lost a lot of talent from a team that went to the regional finals last season. Oxford has been hot and cold this season. Clarkston should be the favorite and also has home court. The Wolves are loaded with very proven talent and should be motivated after being upset by Lakeland in the district finals last season. I really don’t see Pontiac, Waterford Kettering, or Waterford Mott contending in this district. This district will be either in Wildcat blue and yellow, Wolves blue and yellow, or Dragon green and white.

District 32 at West Bloomfield

WEST BLOOMFIELD

Milford

Lakeland

Walled Lake Central

Walled Lake Northern

Walled Lake Western

FAVORITE: Lakeland

NEXT: Walled Lake Central

DARKHORSE: West Bloomfield

EARLY THOUGHTS: This is a very interesting district on the blacktop. Lakeland is riding a ton of confidence after upsetting Clarkston in the district finals last season. The Eagles should be very good again and if they win this district then they would host the regionals. Walled Lake Central should be solid. Walled Lake Northern and Walled Lake Western are the wildcards. West Bloomfield is the host school. This is anyone’s district to take on the blacktop.

District 54 at Hazel Park

FERNDALE

FERNDALE UNIVERSITY

Hazel Park

Warren Fitzgerald

Warren Lincoln

FAVORITE: Ferndale

NEXT: Hazel Park

DARKHORSE: Ferndale University

EARLY THOUGHTS: This is a very interesting district. Ferndale and Hazel Park stand out in this district. Ferndale University could surprise some people. I think the Eagles have a slight edge over the Vikings considering in 2019 they went into Hazel Park and beat the Vikings in the district finals. Could a repeat performance happen again??? It’s possible.
