TIM 36-20
STICK 34-22
COTTER 46-10
1. West Bloomfield at 3. Adams: The Lakers should be motivated after what happened last season where they lost two games, both of them were to Adams. West Bloomfield has been rolling lately especially with their three headed monster of Semaj Morgan, Kenny Jones, and Requan Nance. The Highlanders have their own four headed monster in Parker Picot, Tait Picot, Brady Prieskorn, and Nick Paterra. Depth could be an issue in this game but then again Adams has been here before. This should be a tight game.
SANDY DUNES: WEST BLOOMFIELD 27, ADAMS 24.
BURNEY: WEST BLOOMFIELD 31, ADAMS 30.
DUNLAP: WEST BLOOMFIELD 42, ADAMS 40.
TIM: WEST BLOOMFIELD 35, ADAMS 28.
STICK: ADAMS over WEST BLOOMFIELD.
COTTER: WEST BLOOMFIELD 42, ADAMS 28.
2. Southfield Arts and Tech at 8. Groves: These are two teams that are rolling. Both teams stand at 3-1 with tough losses to Red teams. The Warriors have improved defensively but offensively has taken a bit of a hit but bottom line they have been winning. The Falcons have been playing really well even though they were tested in a 35-28 win over Bloomfield Hills last week. This rivalry has been really tight in the past, it could be very well so again this season.
SANDY DUNES: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 33, GROVES 28.
BURNEY: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 54, GROVES 35.
DUNLAP: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 35, GROVES 21.
TIM: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 42, GROVES 14.
STICK: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH over GROVES.
COTTER: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 49, GROVES 14.
4. Seaholm at North Farmington: This is a big game for both teams as one looks to get back on track while the other is rolling along. The Maples are riding with a ton of confidence after their 4-0 start. They should be tested against a well-organized North Farmington program. The Raiders are struggling at 1-3 but have been playing better lately. This should be a very interesting matchup at Ron Holland Field this week.
SANDY DUNES: SEAHOLM 31, NORTH FARMINGTON 14.
BURNEY: SEAHOLM 28, NORTH FARMINGTON 18.
DUNLAP: NORTH FARMINGTON 17, SEAHOLM 14.
TIM: SEAHOLM 42, NORTH FARMINGTON 21.
STICK: NORTH FARMINGTON over SEAHOLM.
COTTER: SEAHOLM 28, NORTH FARMINGTON 7.
Oxford at 5. Clarkston: These are two teams that are in a very odd place. The Wildcats are 0-4 and have scored 17 points in the last two weeks prior to scoring 17 points against Groves. The Wolves are 2-2 and have played a tough schedule. They almost came back from 35-14 down with a backup quarterback against West Bloomfield last week. It’s Clarkston’s homecoming and not to mention it was Oxford that ended the Wolves season last year. This is going to be really tough for Oxford.
SANDY DUNES: CLARKSTON 42, OXFORD 0.
BURNEY: CLARKSTON 40, OXFORD 25.
DUNLAP: CLARKSTON 35, OXFORD 7.
TIM: CLARKSTON 45, OXFORD 42.
STICK: CLARKSTON over OXFORD
COTTER: CLARKSTON 45, OXFORD 7.
6. Farmington at 10. Troy: This is a big game of two teams that stand at 3-1. The Falcons are riding high after beating arch rival North Farmington 33-27 in overtime last week. They are riding high on the play of Dominic Peshi and Cam Pettaway as they were both instrumental in getting the Farmington Cup back to Shiawassee Street last week. The Colts have been riding a red hot defense all season. The offense has really been vanilla as of late. That will have to change if Troy wants to beat Farmington. This should be a very interesting game.
SANDY DUNES: FARMINGTON 27, TROY 0.
BURNEY: FARMINGTON 33, TROY 26.
DUNLAP: TROY 20, FARMINGTON 13.
TIM: FARMINGTON 35, TROY 0.
STICK: TROY over FARMINGTON.
COTTER: FARMINGTON 28, TROY 10.
9. Lake Orion at 7. Stoney Creek: This is a big game for both teams when it comes to postseason hopes. The Cougars stand at 3-1 but they haven’t really played that extreme of schedule that Lake Orion has. The Dragons have played Utica Eisenhower and Adams. They sit at 2-2. It’s Stoney Creek’s homecoming and they should be motivated after falling to Lake Orion last season. This should be a very interesting game as mentioned.
SANDY DUNES: LAKE ORION 31, STONEY CREEK 21.
BURNEY: STONEY CREEK 36, LAKE ORION 26.
DUNLAP: LAKE ORION 28, STONEY CREEK 27.
TIM: STONEY CREEK 35, LAKE ORION 21.
STICK: LAKE ORION over STONEY CREEK.
COTTER: STONEY CREEK 24, LAKE ORION 21.
Harper Woods at Rochester: This is the first meeting between the schools and it’s a must win game for both teams. The Pioneers earned a 53-40 victory over Oak Park last week. They should be tested when they head to Rochester to take on a Falcons program that is at a crossroads. Rochester fell 48-22 to Southfield Arts and Tech last week. Someone will be 3-2 after this week.
SANDY DUNES: ROCHESTER 45, HARPER WOODS 41.
BURNEY: HARPER WOODS 34, ROCHESTER 22.
DUNLAP: HARPER WOODS 35, ROCHESTER 31.
TIM: HARPER WOODS 35, ROCHESTER 21.
STICK: ROCHESTER over HARPER WOODS.
COTTER: HARPER WOODS 37, ROCHESTER 35.
Oak Park at Bloomfield Hills: These are two 0-4 teams that are in need of a win in the worst way. The Knights have been improving each week which is a good sign. Oak Park fell 53-40 to Harper Woods last week. The Blackhawks behind the play of CJ Jackson and Ahmad Taylor have really stepped up in the past few weeks. This should be a very interesting game looming at Bloomfield Hills.
SANDY DUNES: OAK PARK 45, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 17.
BURNEY: OAK PARK 27, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 24.
DUNLAP: BLOOMFIELD HILLS 24, OAK PARK 23.
TIM: OAK PARK 28, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 0.
STICK: OAK PARK over BLOOMFIELD HILLS.
COTTER: OAK PARK 26, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 21.
Royal Oak at Troy Athens: This is a very interesting matchup of two teams that are trying to find their identity. The Ravens are coming off a 42-20 win over Pontiac and stand at 1-3. The Red Hawks have lost two straight games since a 2-0 start. Troy Athens has not been healthy since but rumor has it they could have their full lineup back and it’s their homecoming as well. This should be a good game between two teams that are trying to find themselves.
SANDY DUNES: TROY ATHENS 35, ROYAL OAK 17.
BURNEY: TROY ATHENS 30, ROYAL OAK 20.
DUNLAP: TROY ATHENS 27, ROYAL OAK 17.
TIM: TROY ATHENS 42, ROYAL OAK 0.
STICK: TROY ATHENS over ROYAL OAK.
COTTER: TROY ATHENS 42, ROYAL OAK 14.
Avondale at Pontiac: This is a matchup of two teams in which one team is improving while the other is at a crossroads. The Phoenix have been improving and the numbers have proved it despite the 0-4 record. The Yellow Jackets sit at 2-2 and have looked good against league competition while not looking so good against non league teams. This has to change if Avondale wants to take the next step. It’s a mismatch on paper but never ever underestimate Pontiac.
SANDY DUNES: AVONDALE 60, PONTIAC 42.
BURNEY: AVONDALE 32, PONTIAC 18.
DUNLAP: AVONDALE 42, PONTIAC 0.
TIM: AVONDALE 49, PONTIAC 7.
STICK: AVONDALE over PONTIAC.
COTTER: AVONDALE 49, PONTIAC 6.
Berkley at Ferndale: This is a very interesting matchup of two 1-3 teams that are trying get some sort of confidence. The Eagles have played a really tough schedule. They have lost two games by a combined six points. Ferndale lost 17-12 to Troy last week. The Bears have really been very disappointing, especially their defense has not played well at all. This is a big game for Berkley if they want to achieve their goals. Both teams need this one in the worst way possible.
SANDY DUNES: FERNDALE 35, BERKLEY 12.
BURNEY: FERNDALE 25, BERKLEY 23.
DUNLAP: BERKLEY 24, FERNDALE 20.
TIM: FERNDALE 35, BERKLEY 7.
STICK: FERNDALE over BERKLEY.
COTTER: FERNDALE 26, BERKLEY 6.
