Basketball Not Official Top Ten.

Written Saturday October 1st at 11:30 PM

Hello to everyone. Basketball season hasn't started yet but it is getting closer and it's only a month away. These are NOT the official top ten rankings for girls and boys basketball as we head into the season. The official rankings will be posted during the preview part of the blog.

So here we are.

Girls

1. West Bloomfield: Defending Division One State Champs are loaded with proven experience but depth will be very interesting to watch.

2. Lake Orion: Dragons have a lot of proven experience and depth coming back plus a rising name to watch as well.

3. Oxford: Wildcats might have the best starting five in the White but their depth will be very interesting to watch.

4. Rochester: Falcons have the twin towers in the post. If they can find consistent guard play look out.

5. Clarkston: Wolves lost two really good players last season. Will be very interesting to see who steps up this season.

6. Groves: Falcons have a ton of proven experience coming back led by Kaitlyn Sanders.

7. Stoney Creek: Cougars have Sarah LaPrarie, Emily Flynn, and Mia Carson but if they can find a fourth scorer look out.

8. Berkley: The Bears lost Ashley Loon to graduation but most of the roster is back and they want to prove that last season's district crown wasn't a fluke.

9. North Farmington: Raiders are a veteran team this season. They are a sleeper in the White.

10. Seaholm: Shay Manchester might be the best kept secret in the White.

Boys

1. North Farmington: Raiders could be primed for a Division One State title run. They have a lot of proven experience coming back.

2. Ferndale: Eagles lost their two top players from last season's Division Two State Semifinal run but everyone else is back.

3. Oak Park: Knights have some proven experience coming back. They need to solve their Detroit University-Detroit Jesuit problem.

4. Clarkston: Wolves front court could be very dangerous this season and that's not mentioning John Kaul and Cavanugh Diton.

5. Troy: Colts have four starters coming back plus a favorable district. They are a team to watch.

6. Adams: Peter Karkasis is a player to watch alongside Brady Prieskorn for the Highlanders.

7. Bloomfield Hills: Noah Adamcyzk might be a Mr. Michigan candidate this season.

8. Lake Orion: Not a ton of people are talking about the Dragons which could be a good thing.

9. Stoney Creek: Cougars have proven experience and new coach. They could be the favorite in the Blue.

10. West Bloomfield: Lakers have a ton of experience coming back. Moving to the White should also help them as well.
