COTTER 60-18
Oak Park at 1. Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors are likely heading to the postseason with their strength of schedule, proven wins, and they have the White title as well. Southfield Arts and Tech has really improved defensively to go along with their high octane offense. The Knights have a really tough schedule ahead of them and they have been struggling as well. 0-9 looks like a real possibility for Coach Greg Carter and his team. This could be a really long game in Southfield.
SANDY DUNES: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 56, OAK PARK 18.
BURNEY: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 48, OAK PARK 24.
DUNLAP: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 43, OAK PARK 14.
TIM: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 56, OAK PARK 0.
STICK: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH over OAK PARK.
COTTER: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 49, OAK PARK 6.
Stoney Creek at 2. Adams: The battle of Tienken Road is this week. The Highlanders are likely postseason bound with their strength of schedule and proven wins over very strong competition. The Cougars will likely need to win two of three make the postseason. Stoney Creek got Jon Fogler back last week against Clarkston after missing the Lake Orion game. It will be a really tough task for the Cougars going up against a vaunted Adams veteran squad.
SANDY DUNES: ADAMS 42, STONEY CREEK 7.
BURNEY: ADAMS 40, STONEY CREEK 20.
DUNLAP: ADAMS 31, STONEY CREEK 10.
TIM: ADAMS 63, STONEY CREEK 14.
STICK: ADAMS over STONEY CREEK.
COTTER: ADAMS 38, STONEY CREEK 14.
Oxford at 3. West Bloomfield: The Lakers are rolling with confidence behind the play of Semaj Morgan and Kenny Jones. They won’t have Requan Nance whom is out with a finger injury. West Bloomfield is clearly in the postseason. The Wildcats have really struggled all season and they still have a very tough schedule that is looming. It could be a really long game in the Swamp for Oxford.
SANDY DUNES: WEST BLOOMFIELD 42, OXFORD 0.
BURNEY: WEST BLOOMFIELD 38, OXFORD 18.
DUNLAP: WEST BLOOMFIELD 35, OXFORD 7.
TIM: WEST BLOOMFIELD 49, OXFORD 42.
STICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD over OXFORD.
COTTER: WEST BLOOMFIELD 42, OXFORD 7.
4. Seaholm at Berkley: The Maples are likely postseason bound with their unbeaten record plus and a monster quality win over Detroit University-Detroit Jesuit. Seaholm is riding with confidence at the right time. The Bears have had a really disappointing season but they bounced back by keeping the Battle of Woodward Trophy over Royal Oak last week. This should be a very interesting game at Hurley Field.
SANDY DUNES: SEAHOLM 45, BERKLEY 21.
BURNEY: SEAHOLM 45, BERKLEY 35.
DUNLAP: SEAHOLM 28, BERKLEY 20.
TIM: SEAHOLM 48, BERKLEY 6.
STICK: SEAHOLM over BERKLEY.
COTTER: SEAHOLM 42, BERKLEY 0.
5. Clarkston at 10. Lake Orion: This is a huge game for the Dragons on their homecoming. Lake Orion likely needs to win two of three just to get into the postseason. The Wolves have been playing really well behind the play of Ethan Clark, Mike Hein, and a strong offensive line led by Cole Dellinger. The defense is still pretty suspect. This should be a very interesting game.
SANDY DUNES: LAKE ORION 31, CLARKSTON 24.
BURNEY: CLARKSTON 24, LAKE ORION 21.
DUNLAP: CLARKSTON 24, LAKE ORION 17.
TIM: CLARKSTON 54, LAKE ORION 28.
STICK: CLARKSTON over LAKE ORION.
COTTER: CLARKSTON 35, LAKE ORION 28.
8. Farmington at 6. Ferndale: This should be a very interesting game for several reasons. The Eagles clinched at least a share of the Gold with a 21-10 victory last week over Avondale. They have played a really tough non conference schedule which should help come postseason time if they make it. The Falcons are in a very interesting spot, the early season loss to Ypsilanti Lincoln is hurting Farmington right now. This is a big game for both teams when it comes to postseason hopes.
SANDY DUNES: FARMINGTON 31, FERNDALE 22.
BURNEY: FERNDALE 27, FARMINGTON 23.
DUNLAP: FERNDALE 28, FARMINGTON 24.
TIM: FARMINGTON 28, FERNDALE 21.
STICK: FERNDALE over FARMINGTON.
COTTER: FARMINGTON 24, FERNDALE 14.
7. Groves at 9. Rochester: This is a huge game for postseason dreams. Groves appears to be in solid footing when it comes to the postseason. The Falcons have been battle tested despite having a very disappointing early season loss to Utica. Rochester might need to win two of three to get in but their odds are improving each week. The Falcons have had a great two weeks which is a great sign. They are also peaking at the right time as well. This should be a fun matchup at Rochester Stadium this week.
SANDY DUNES: ROCHESTER 31, GROVES 14.
BURNEY: GROVES 37, ROCHESTER 22.
DUNLAP: ROCHESTER 28, GROVES 24.
TIM: ROCHESTER 35, GROVES 7.
STICK: ROCHESTER over GROVES.
COTTER: ROCHESTER 24, GROVES 14.
Bloomfield Hills at Harper Woods: Life in the OAA is always a tough challenge week in and week out. The Pioneers are finding that out after two losses by a combined nine points in the last two weeks. Harper Woods needs their offense to get going, they have scored 24 points total in the last two weeks. The Blackhawks are coming off a 49-7 loss to Southfield Arts and Tech last week. Postseason dreams look very rough for both teams but it should be a very interesting game.
SANDY DUNES: HARPER WOODS 24, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 21.
BURNEY: HARPER WOODS 28, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 26.
DUNLAP: HARPER WOODS 26, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 10.
TIM: HARPER WOODS 35, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 14.
STICK: BLOOMFIELD HILLS over HARPER WOODS.
COTTER: HARPER WOODS 18, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 14.
Troy Athens at Pontiac: This is a very interesting game at Pontiac. The Red Hawks postseason hopes did take a hit with a 28-7 loss to North Farmington last week putting them in this position. The Phoenix have really been struggling but they are improving each week and getting better. The odds don’t favor Pontiac but never say never.
SANDY DUNES: TROY ATHENS 38, PONTIAC 12.
BURNEY: TROY ATHENS 33, PONTIAC 20.
DUNLAP: TROY ATHENS 35, PONTIAC 6.
TIM: TROY ATHENS 42, PONTIAC 0.
STICK: TROY ATHENS over PONTIAC.
COTTER: TROY ATHENS 49, PONTIAC 12.
Troy at Royal Oak: This is a huge game for the Colts when it comes to the postseason hopes. The schedule has really hurt Troy and they have lost two of three coming into this game. I’m not sure how the Ravens fit here but if Troy were upset by Royal Oak then it would really hurt the Colts postseason hopes. Troy needs this one if they are to stay in the postseason hunt.
SANDY DUNES: TROY 17, ROYAL OAK 14.
BURNEY: TROY 36, ROYAL OAK 25.
DUNLAP: TROY 23, ROYAL OAK 13.
TIM: TROY 49, ROYAL OAK 7.
STICK: TROY over ROYAL OAK.
COTTER: TROY 24, ROYAL OAK 7.
North Farmington at Avondale: This is almost an elimination game for both teams when it comes to the postseason. The Raiders suddenly have a path to the postseason if they can win out. North Farmington also had Ryan Shelby come back and he had a solid game against Troy Athens last week. The Yellow Jackets need to win this game but it is possible they could get in with Division Three not as strong as in years past. It’s a must win game for both teams.
SANDY DUNES: NORTH FARMINGTON 27, AVONDALE 14.
BURNEY: AVONDALE 34, NORTH FARMINGTON 30.
DUNLAP: NORTH FARMINGTON 24, AVONDALE 21.
TIM: NORTH FARMINGTON 35, AVONDALE 14.
STICK: NORTH FARMINGTON over AVONDALE.
COTTER: NORTH FARMINGTON 35, AVONDALE 10.
