STATEMENT WIN: Avondale. The Yellow Jackets pulled off a stunning upset over North Farmington winning 27-24 at Dick Bye Field on Friday night thanks to a winning field goal with four seconds left. Avondale has been hot and cold but this is a big one when it comes to postseason hopes. The Yellow Jackets have Royal Oak looming next week.
TOUGH LOSS: Lake Orion. The Dragons played much better offensively on Friday night against Clarkston but too many points in the first half and mistakes doomed them in their 45-41 loss on Friday night. Lake Orion like Stoney Creek needs to win out if they want to make the playoffs. They have North Farmington looming next week.
WHAT HAPPENED??? Bloomfield Hills. The Blackhawks had a really tough few weeks. They fell 55-14 to Harper Woods on Friday night. It’s been a long season for Coach Dan Loria and his program. Bloomfield Hills has Oxford looming next week.
TEAM THAT NEEDS A HUG: Groves. The Falcons have played in a ton of close games. Groves lost 10-6 to Rochester on Friday night. The Falcons are a classic Jekyll and Hyde team. They have Berkley looming next week.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME: Half of the Gold scored 0 points. The Gold had three teams score zero points against Blue teams on Friday night all be it against good teams but still it’s rough. Royal Oak, Pontiac, and Berkley were shutout by their respective opponents 140-0. The Gold gets back into league play next week.
