Week Four Thoughts.

Written Saturday September 16th at 12:40 AM

West Bloomfield: The Lakers lost a tough one to Lake Orion on Friday night falling 17-13. West Bloomfield’s defense was solid all night behind the play of Brandon Davis-Swain but it was penalties at really bad times that cost them. The Lakers got two field goals along with a Requen Nance to Elijah Durham touchdown. West Bloomfield will be fine, no need to panic. They have to be more disciplined if they want to make some noise especially in the postseason. They have Adams for their homecoming next week in the Swamp.

Lake Orion: The Dragons earned a 17-13 win over West Bloomfield on Friday night. The offensive line and the defense was the difference for Lake Orion. Billy Roberson was solid despite not getting the chunk yards. It was a heavyweight fight that was for sure. The Dragons have Stoney Creek looming next week.

Clarkston: The Wolves defense came to play and they needed it too in a 14-10 win over Stoney Creek. Desman Stephens had a touchdown off the wildcat and was solid on defense all night. Adam Denver had three interceptions while Brady Collins also looked solid for Clarkston. The Wolves have Oxford looming next week.

Adams: The Highlanders had no problem with Oxford winning 33-7 on Friday night. Adams took advantage of the veer offense and the play of Brady Prieskorn, Matteo Humbert, and Ryan Watters was the difference. They head to the Swamp to play West Bloomfield next week.

Oxford: The Wildcats are really struggling right now. They fell 33-7 to Adams on Friday night. Oxford has a tough one looming with Clarkston next week.

Stoney Creek: The Cougars had a tough loss to Clarkston falling 14-10 on their homecoming on Friday night. The defense was solid all night but the offense had some issues with turnovers. Stoney Creek has Lake Orion looming next week.

Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors most likely secured the White crown on Thursday night with a hard fought 42-35 win over Groves. Isiah Marshall accounted for four touchdowns including three passing scores to Tashi Braceful while Davion Burt added a score and Dorian Freeman had the winning touchdown score. The defense who has been battle tested all season picked off a pass in the endzone from DaMario Quarles to secure the win. Southfield Arts and Tech’s schedule starts to lighten up with Farmington looming next week.

Harper Woods: The Pioneers bounced back in a big way after a tough stretch of losses by winning 56-26 over Rochester on Friday night. Harper Woods got a measure of revenge after last season’s heartbreaking loss to the Falcons. Harper Woods has Bloomfield Hills looming next week.

Groves: The Falcons got a great game from Noah Sanders but it wasn’t enough as Groves fell 42-35 to Southfield Arts and Tech on Thursday night. Groves had a ton of trouble with the Warriors balance as every team has thus far. The Falcons have Rochester looming next week.

Farmington: The Falcons might have took a big hit with an injury to Cam Pettaway in their 21-19 win over Bloomfield Hills on Friday afternoon. Farmington might be in some trouble. They have Southfield Arts and Tech looming next week.

Bloomfield Hills: The Blackhawks have played better the last two weeks despite falling in both games. Bloomfield Hills fell 21-19 to Farmington on Friday afternoon. They have a tough one looming with Harper Woods next week.

Rochester: The Falcons had a tough loss in Wayne County falling 56-26 to Harper Woods on Friday night. Rochester is a very young team this season which is rough. They have Groves looming next week.

Seaholm: The Maples had no issue with Berkley on Thursday night winning 48-0 at Hurley Field. Colton Kinnie had two touchdown passes. Seaholm got a punt return and four rushing touchdowns along with a shutout. The Maples have Troy Athens looming next week.

North Farmington: The Raiders earned their first win of the season by beating Troy Athens 22-7 at Ron Holland Field on Thursday night. Ryan Shelby had a bounce back game and Duke Blanch had 219 rushing yards and a touchdown for North Farmington. Hopefully this turns things around for the Raiders. They have Troy looming next week.

Oak Park: The Knights are starting to turn things around a little but with a 28-21 win over Troy on Friday night. They have a very interesting matchup looming with Avondale next week.

Troy: The Colts gave up their first points of the season on their first defensive drive of the game. They went back and fourth all night with Oak Park. The Colts fell 28-21 to Oak Park on Friday night. This loss might help them in the long run. Now we see if Troy is for real or not when they play North Farmington next week.

Troy Athens: The Red Hawks had a tough 22-7 loss to North Farmington on Friday night at Ron Holland Field. Pretty much postseason hopes might be gone for Troy Athens. The Red Hawks have Seaholm looming next week.

Ferndale: The Eagles had a tough loss to Avondale 37-12 on Friday night. Ferndale has really struggled this season. They have Royal Oak looming next week.

Avondale: The Yellow Jackets earned a big 37-12 win over Ferndale on Friday night. Avondale is a scary team in Division Three right now. They have Oak Park looming next week.

Berkley: The Bears scoreless streak continued on Thursday night as Berkley fell 48-0 at Hurley Field. It’s the fourth loss at home this season for the Bears and to make matters worse they have been outscored 160-0 in four weeks. Berkley has Pontiac looming next week.

Royal Oak: The Ravens earned their second win under Coach Corey Campbell with a 40-14 win over Pontiac on Friday night. Royal Oak has Ferndale next week.

Pontiac: The Phoenix had a rough one with Royal Oak falling 40-14 at home on Friday night. I worry about this team with two straight losses. Pontiac has a big game looming with Berkley next week.
