WIN OF THE WEEK: West Bloomfield and Oxford: The Red is a complete mess and it got must tougher. The Lakers won 49-41 over Lake Orion after an offensive explosion scoring 35 second half points in the second half. The Wildcats won 18-17 over Adams sending them to their second straight loss. Oxford trailed 17-6 in the fourth quarter but rallied behind Jack Hendrix who threw two touchdown passes including a controversial pass to Jake Champagne where there was debate about his feet with one saying it was incomplete but the other said it was a touchdown but anyway the Red is a complete mess where everyone has a chance to win the division crown. Lake Orion plays Clarkston while West Bloomfield and Oxford plays each other. If the Dragons and Lakers both win then it would be the first time that all the home teams have won and everyone would win the league with a 2-2 record. I’ve said this and will continue to say this, ALL FIVE TEAMS WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS IN THIS DIVISION.
WHAT IN THE BLUE WORLD: Berkley: The Bears were just physically dominated by Jackson Northwest falling 35-6 on Saturday afternoon. The Mounties had their way up front on both sides of the football. This is a really difficult loss for Berkley especially against a solid Jackson Northwest team. The Bears need to win out to have a chance to make the postseason.
TEAM THAT NEEDS A HUG: Rochester: The Falcons had a really tough 22-21 overtime loss to Stoney Creek on Friday night. This loss really damages Rochester’s postseason hopes. The Falcons need to win out to have a chance at the postseason. They have Harper Woods looming this week in a must win game.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME: Southfield Arts and Tech: It has been a really challenging year for Coach Curtis McKenzie and the Warriors but scoring 20 points in league play is really concerning which included a 49-6 loss to Harper Woods on Friday night. Southfield Arts and Tech is going through a tough rebuilding year after losing a ton of proven experience from their Division One State Championship team but honestly didn’t expect this much of a struggle for this program. They have Groves looming next week.
