Clawson Returning to the OAA.

Written Monday April 27th at 8:55 PM

The Clawson Trojans are coming back to the OAA.

The Trojans will be leaving the Macomb Area Conference after the 2026-2027 school year and rejoining the conference for the 2027-2028 school year. Clawson left the OAA with Madison Heights Madison and Madison Heights Lamphere in 2005. Clawson joins Novi and Northville as they are also coming into the league.

The league confirmed the move on Friday according to several accurate sources.

Clawson is known for volleyball and girls basketball. The Trojans have been starting to become more consistent in football with a postseason berth last season and they played Royal Oak twice splitting the season series with the Ravens. They will meet again at Royal Oak in week nine.

Clawson unifies with Royal Oak, Berkley, and Ferndale to become M-1 in lacrosse and in hockey.

Clawson during their first tenure in the OAA usually competed in Division's Three and Four. They have had rivalries with Berkley, Royal Oak Kimball, Royal Oak Dondero, and Ferndale. The Trojans could reunite rivalries with Berkley, Royal Oak, Harper Woods, Southfield Arts and Tech, Oak Park, Ferndale University, and Ferndale when they come back into the league in 2027-2028.

The challenge for the Trojans will be is they will be the smallest school in the OAA. Clawson is in Division Five for football and is in Class C for other sports.

It will be very interesting to see with the Trojans going forward in their final season in the Macomb Area Conference.

Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing story.
