Troy Athens has their new Girls Basketball Coach.

Written Thursday April 30th at 1:09 PM

Troy Athens has their new girls basketball coach.

The Red Hawks have named Brittany Brennan as their new head coach. She takes over for Coach Stacie Klumpp who stepped down a few weeks ago.

The MHSAA website confirmed the hire with Brennan's name on the website.

Brennan is part of the Lake Orion 2009 State Semifinal team as its shooting guard was the freshman coach for a time at Troy Athens and was an assistant under Klumpp last season.

The Red Hawks have Annabelle Beaubien, Ashari Daram, Ella Odgers, Emery Collesano, Gabrielle Bieniek, Hailey Fellin, Kaitlyn Piggott, Madi Stencel, and Laitlyn Dennis coming back. Troy Athens has program strength to help as well.

Troy Athens won the Blue and also won their first district crown since 2002 last season. They will be in the White with Bloomfield Hills, Berkley, Royal Oak, Seaholm, and Lake Orion this winter.

Brennan also learned from former Lake Orion Coach Bob Brydges in her AAU days. It will be very interesting to see how she handles her staff and handles the transition period which has to happen during the season.

Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing story.

Davison and Grand Blanc would be great fits for the OAA.
