TIM 28-17

STICK 26-19

COTTER 35-10

2. Clarkston at 1. West Bloomfield: This is a rematch of a wild game in the Swamp which went overtime with the Lakers winning 34-27 although I’m not sure why this game is back at the Swamp this season??? Both teams are coming off wins last week with Clarkston over Adams 45-35 and West Bloomfield won 42-23 over Stoney Creek. The Lakers really haven’t been tested and have been rolling. They should be tested against the Wolves whom has played much better since losing 28-21 to Davison in week one. This should be a fun one to watch for sure.

SANDY DUNES: WEST BLOOMFIELD 45, CLARKSTON 42.

BURNEY: WEST BLOOMFIELD 32, CLARKSTON 28.

DUNLAP: WEST BLOOMFIELD 42, CLARKSTON 38.

TIM: WEST BLOOMFIELD 42, CLARKSTON 35.

STICK: CLARKSTON over WEST BLOOMFIELD.

COTTER: WEST BLOOMFIELD 42, CLARKSTON 28.

4. Adams at 6. Lake Orion: This is a very interesting matchup at Stadium Drive between these two rivals. The Highlanders are coming off a stunning 45-35 loss to Clarkston last week. Adams has a ton of proven skill players on both sides of the football. They also run one of the most sophisticated offenses in the state in the veer. It will be their first meeting with the Dragons since 2019 when Lake Orion won 36-31. The Dragons have been playing much better since their 34-17 week one loss to Utica Eisenhower. Lake Orion has used their rushing attack to get two wins including a 28-10 victory over Oxford last week. This should be a shootout in Dragon County.

SANDY DUNES: LAKE ORION 34, ADAMS 31.

BURNEY: ADAMS 34, LAKE ORION 24.

DUNLAP: ADAMS 35, LAKE ORION 20.

TIM: ADAMS 42, LAKE ORION 21.

STICK: ADAMS over LAKE ORION.

COTTER: ADAMS 38, LAKE ORION 21.

Rochester at 3. Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors have been seemingly turning the corner. The defense which has been getting just absolutely torched in the last two weeks only allowed 21 points at Harper Woods last week. The offense only scored 35 last week despite scoring 56 points in the prior two weeks. The Falcons earned their first win by beating Bloomfield Hills 41-20 last week. Rochester has been a mystery to figure out. This should be a high scoring game as both teams have proven experienced quarterbacks with high octane offenses.

SANDY DUNES: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 45, ROCHESTER 42.

BURNEY: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 31, ROCHESTER 15.

DUNLAP: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 35, ROCHESTER 31.

TIM: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 28, ROCHESTER 21.

STICK: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH over ROCHESTER.

COTTER: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 49, ROCHESTER 21.

10. Troy Athens at 5. Seaholm: Is there no team that is any hotter than the Maples. Seaholm has really been playing outstanding as of late. The reason is the Kinnie brothers, they have been dominant which is a great sign going forward for the Maples. Seaholm put 63 up on Avondale last week. The Red Hawks had a tough 28-14 loss to Farmington last week. They had been playing very good football prior to that stretch winning their previous two games

SANDY DUNES: SEAHOLM 35, TROY ATHENS 21.

BURNEY: SEAHOLM 28, TROY ATHENS 27.

DUNLAP: SEAHOLM 21, TROY ATHENS 20.

TIM: SEAHOLM 42, TROY ATHENS 28.

STICK: SEAHOLM over TROY ATHENS.

COTTER: SEAHOLM 42, TROY ATHENS 14.

8. Stoney Creek at 9. Oxford: These are two teams that are coming off very tough losses last week. The Cougars had a strong start to the season winning their first two games by a combined 112-7 but West Bloomfield put up 42 on Coach Gary Griffith’s defense last week. Stoney Creek did put up 23 points in that game. It’s the Wildcats homecoming and it will be very emotional. Oxford has really struggled offensively even in their 17-14 victory against Groves where they only scored 17 points now much of that is that they are playing several sophomores in key positions. The Wildcats fell 28-10 to arch rival Lake Orion last week. It should be a very interesting game, both teams know each other quite well and Oxford has won the last three meetings over Stoney Creek.

SANDY DUNES: STONEY CREEK 17, OXFORD 13.

BURNEY: STONEY CREEK 29, OXFORD 20.

DUNLAP: STONEY CREEK 17, OXFORD 14.

TIM: OXFORD 42, STONEY CREEK 28.

STICK: STONEY CREEK over OXFORD.

COTTER: STONEY CREEK 28, OXFORD 7.

North Farmington at 7. Farmington: Farmington TV-10 has been looking forward to this rivalry game. The Raiders snapped their eight game losing streak by beating Troy 9-0 at Ron Holland Field last week. North Farmington used Mike Coleman as their string quarterback in the game last week. It is unknown if Ryan Shelby or Tom Balazovic will be available due to injuries. The Falcons have won two straight since their stunning 20-14 loss to Ypsilanti Lincoln in week one. Farmington has played much better thanks in big part of the play of Dominic Peshi and Cam Pettaway. The Falcons earned a stunning 28-14 victory over Troy Athens last week. This might be Farmington’s best chance to get the Farmington Cup back from North Farmington. The Falcons are 0-3 against Jon Herstein Raider lead teams. Farmington TV-10 will be all over this game for sure.

SANDY DUNES: FARMINGTON 27, NORTH FARMINGTON 20.

BURNEY: NORTH FARMINGTON 26, FARMINGTON 21.

DUNLAP: NORTH FARMINGTON 31, FARMINGTON 21.

TIM: NORTH FARMINGTON 35, FARMINGTON 28.

STICK: NORTH FARMINGTON over FARMINGTON.

COTTER: FARMINGTON 28, NORTH FARMINGTON 14.

Bloomfield Hills at Groves: These are two teams that are opposite. The Falcons have played well despite their 17-14 loss to Oxford in week two. Groves has played a ton of close games which included a 23-18 victory at Oak Park last week. The Blackhawks have really struggled this season. Bloomfield Hills sits at 0-3 and have lost all of them by more than two touchdowns including a 41-20 loss to Rochester last week. This game looks to be a mismatch on paper but it might not be the case.

SANDY DUNES: GROVES 24, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 14.

BURNEY: GROVES 26, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 18.

DUNLAP: GROVES 34, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 20.

TIM: GROVES 35, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 7.

STICK: GROVES over BLOOMFIELD HILLS.

COTTER: GROVES 35, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 14.

Oak Park at Harper Woods: These are two teams that are trying to find their way. The Pioneers have lost two straight to very good teams. Harper Woods had their first home game last week in a 35-21 loss to Southfield Arts and Tech. The Knights played much better despite falling 23-18 to Groves last week. It should be a very interesting matchup in Harper Woods.

SANDY DUNES: HARPER WOODS 24, OAK PARK 22.

BURNEY: HARPER WOODS 33, OAK PARK 23.

DUNLAP: HARPER WOODS 16, OAK PARK 9.

TIM: HARPER WOODS 21, OAK PARK 14.

STICK: HARPER WOODS over OAK PARK.

COTTER: HARPER WOODS 35, OAK PARK 6.

Pontiac at Royal Oak: This is a very interesting matchup of two 0-3 teams that are very close to breaking out. The Phoenix played much better despite allowing 48 points in a 48-28 loss to Berkley last week. They had scored 18 points prior to that game but the 28 points was a 10 point improvement. The Ravens fell 22-21 to Ferndale last week but they made significant progress on both sides of the football in that game. They had allowed 93 points and hadn’t scored in two prior to that. Progress is the key in this game and whoever continues it should win this game.

SANDY DUNES: ROYAL OAK 21, PONTIAC 20.

BURNEY: ROYAL OAK 23, PONTIAC 12.

DUNLAP: ROYAL OAK 31, PONTIAC 8.

TIM: ROYAL OAK 42, PONTIAC 14.

STICK: ROYAL OAK over PONTIAC.

COTTER: ROYAL OAK 42, PONTIAC 12.

Ferndale at Troy: This is a statement game for both teams. The Colts are coming off a 9-0 loss to North Farmington last week. Troy’s offense has been a real problem for them as of late with scoring 31 total points in three games. The Eagles survived Royal Oak 22-21 last week. Ferndale had a lot of proven experience that is back and they are looking for a statement win. This should be a very interesting matchup at Don Colt Stadium.

SANDY DUNES: FERNDALE 23, TROY 17.

BURNEY: FERNDALE 24, TROY 16.

DUNLAP: TROY 27, FERNDALE 17.

TIM: TROY 35, FERNDALE 7.

STICK: TROY over FERNDALE.

COTTER: TROY 24, FERNDALE 7.

Berkley at Avondale: This is a big game for both teams as they both try to turn their seasons around. The Bears had lost two straight prior to beating Pontiac 48-28 last week. The Yellow Jackets have lost two straight since beating Warren Cousino 36-6 in week one. Both defenses are very shaky coming into this game. This game at Dick Bye Field should come down to is can someone make that critical stop on defense.

SANDY DUNES: AVONDALE 35, BERKLEY 32.

BURNEY: BERKLEY 18, AVONDALE 17.

DUNLAP: BERKLEY 24, AVONDALE 23.

TIM: BERKLEY 35, AVONDALE 21.

STICK: BERKLEY over AVONDALE.

COTTER: AVONDALE 39, BERKLEY 6.
