Week Three Thoughts.

West Bloomfield: The Lakers tour of dominance continued on Friday night when they beat Stoney Creek 42-23. Semaj Morgan had two touchdowns in the game. West Bloomfield is rolling and they have a big one looming with Clarkston next week.

Adams: The Highlanders defense was exposed by Clarkston on Friday night. Adams had no answer for Ethan Clark and Mike Hein all night. Parker Picot had a nice game for the Highlanders. Adams has Lake Orion looming next week.

Clarkston: Ethan Clark had a monster night. He resulted in over 300 yards in total offense in a stunning 45-35 shootout win over Adams. The Wolves defense is still a big problem though. Clarkston has West Bloomfield looming next week.

Lake Orion: The Dragons showed their toughness on Friday night. They trailed 10-7 only to score 21 unanswered points in the second half to get back the Double O Trophy in a 28-10 win over Oxford on Friday night. Lake Orion has Adams looming next week.

Stoney Creek: It was a tough night in the Dutton Farms game on Friday night for the Cougars. Stoney Creek fell to West Bloomfield 42-23. The Cougars need to bounce back when they head to Oxford next week.

Oxford: The Wildcats were in the game with Lake Orion on Friday night even taking a 10-7 lead at one point but the Dragons exploded for 21 unanswered points in the second half. Oxford should be fine going forward. They have Stoney Creek looming next week.

Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors didn’t score 56 unlike the last two weeks but they still won 35-21 over Harper Woods on Friday night. Southfield Arts and Tech improved their defense for one week. They have Rochester looming next week.

Harper Woods: Life in the OAA is never easy and the Pioneers are finding that out. Harper Woods fell 35-21 to Southfield Arts and Tech on Friday night. The Pioneers have Oak Park looming next week.

Groves: The Falcons earned a hard fought 23-18 win over Oak Park on Friday night. They came off a tough 17-14 loss to Oxford last week. It was a tight game throughout. Groves has Bloomfield Hills looming next week.

Rochester: The Falcons got into the win column on Friday night by beating Bloomfield Hills 41-20 on Friday night. Rochester has a big test looming with Southfield Arts and Tech next week.

Bloomfield Hills: The Blackhawks lost a tough one to Rochester at home 41-20 on Friday night. Bloomfield Hills is really struggling right now. They have Groves looming next week.

Oak Park: The Knights lost a tough one to Groves on Friday night in Knight Valley 23-18. Oak Park is close which is a good sign going forward. The Knights have Harper Woods looming next week.

Seaholm: The Maples keep sending statement points after a 63-29 blowout of Avondale on Friday night. Seaholm is rolling right now especially the Kinnie brothers whom have been outstanding. They have Troy Athens looming next week.

North Farmington: The Raiders earned their first win of the season on Friday night by beating Troy 9-0. North Farmington was solid defensively all night. The Raiders have the Farmington Cup game looming next week.

Farmington: The Falcons sent a statement by beating Troy Athens 28-14 on Friday night. Farmington has really turned things around since falling 20-14 to Ypsilanti Lincoln two weeks ago. They have the Farmington Cup looming next week.

Troy:  The inconsistencies on offense came back to haunt the Colts. Troy fell 9-0 to North Farmington on Friday night. The Colts have not been very impressive in the last two weeks. They have Ferndale looming next week.

Troy Athens: The Red Hawks fell to Farmington at home on Friday night 28-14. Troy Athens should be fine, no need to panic. They have a tough matchup looming with Seaholm next week.

Berkley: The Bears earned their first win of the season by beating Pontiac 48-28 on Friday night at Hurley Field. Berkley found some consistency for one night but they need to be more consistent. They have Avondale looming next week.

Avondale: The Yellow Jackets allowed 63 points in a tough 63-29 loss to Seaholm on Friday night. It’s the second time in three years that Avondale allowed 63 points to Seaholm. The Yellow Jackets have Berkley looming next week.

Royal Oak: The Ravens played much better despite falling 22-21 to Ferndale on Friday night. Royal Oak is really close to breaking though which is a good sign. They have Pontiac looming next week.

Pontiac: The Phoenix had another rough loss but they scored 28 points in a 48-28 game to Berkley. Pontiac has Royal Oak looming next week.

Ferndale: The Eagles earned a hard fought 22-21 win over Royal Oak on Friday night. Ferndale seems to be turning things around a little bit. They have Troy looming next week.
