Here are my early insights on the boys lacrosse regionals.
Region 3 at Hartland
Hartland vs. Waterford
Ortonville Brandon/Holly vs. OXFORD
Grand Blanc vs. Davison
Swartz Creek/Flushing vs. Lapeer
EARLY THOUGHTS: This is shaping up to be a very interesting regional. Hartland is the favorite to come out of this regional. Grand Blanc could give Hartland some trouble. I don't really see anyone besides the Bobcats touching the Eagles in this regional because of the tougher competition and they are also State ranked as well.
Region 4 at Troy
Romeo vs. ROCHESTER
STONEY CREEK vs. TROY ATHENS/AVONDALE
TROY vs. Utica United
Romeo/ROCHESTER vs. CLARKSTON
EARLY THOUGHTS: This could be a very interesting regional. Clarkston looks locked and loaded to make another deep run in this regional although watch out for Stoney Creek, they are more than capable of pulling an upset.
Region 5 at Lake Orion
Macomb Dakota vs. St. Clair/Marine City/Marysville
Port Huron vs. Chippewa Valley
New Baltimore Anchor Bay vs. Macomb L’Anse Creuse North
Macomb Dakota/St. Clair/Marine City/Marysville vs. LAKE ORION
EARLY THOUGHTS: Lake Orion has home field, they are state ranked and are playing really good lacrosse lately. Don't see anyone touching the Dragons in this regional.
Region 6 at Birmingham
BLOOMFIELD HILLS vs. M1 UNITED
BIRMINGHAM vs. Detroit Cass Tech
Livonia United vs. FARMINGTON UNITED
BLOOMFIELD HILLS/M1 UNITED vs. Birmingham Brother Rice
EARLY THOUGHTS: I don't see anyone in this regional touching Birmingham Brother Rice in this regional even though the Warriors are banged up, they are still good enough to get by this regional.
Region 7 at Novi Detroit Catholic Central
Novi Detroit Catholic Central vs. Huron Valley
Howell vs. Walled Lake United
South Lyon Unified vs. WEST BLOOMFIELD
Northville vs. Novi
EARLY THOUGHTS: Novi Detroit Catholic Central has been a powerhouse all season and they will look to make another deep run again. Howell could give some problems along with Novi and Northville but this regional looks like it will be the Shamrocks to lose.
Region 14 at Detroit Country Day
Detroit Country Day vs. Macomb L’Anse Creuse
Orchard Lake St. Mary’s vs. Walled Lake Western
Notre Dame Prep vs. Bishop Foley/Clawson/Macomb Lutheran North
ADAMS vs. Royal Oak Shrine/Clarkston Everest/Roch Lutheran Northwest/Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes
EARLY THOUGHTS: This could be a very interesting regional. Birmingham Detroit Country Day looks to be the favorite but Adams could have a strong say and could give the Yellow Jackets some trouble.
